He does in 10 minutes what would have taken probably 8 hours or so the first time you played the game. It took forever to beat these kinds of games on the first playthrough with no guide. I would try to play as long as I could without a guide. But once I was totally stuck for hours or days I'd have to give in. I haven't played Grim Fandango in awhile, I'm not totally sure I could get through the whole game without having to check a guide a few times. I could probably remember the majority of it though and maybe the rest would come back as I play.
Escape from Monkey Island however is my least played Monkey Island games from the first 4. Secret,Revenge and Curse I played through many times, especially Curse. I could still playthrough Curse no problem and remember all the puzzles on Mega-Monkey Mode. Escape however I only played through maybe a couple of times. I wonder if I'd be able to get through it without a guide, because I wouldn't remember the majority of the puzzles. I'd say I probably couldn't as I remember there being some pretty hard to figure out on your own stuff in that game.
