And to make sure the dishwasher didn't get overloaded they came up with the saying one in the pink two in the sink. So for every 1 dish you put in the dishwasher you'd put two in the sink to wash by hand. That way you are still saving time by using the dishwasher but you ensure it doesn't get overloaded.
I tried to make a joke at this college makeout party I was at one time. Since it was a makeout par-tay with hot chicky mamas I brought my NES with me. One of the games I brought was Zelda. At one point I took used my Zelda cartridge as a coaster for my beer and put 2 empty cans in the sink. I then yelled hey y'all one on the Link and two in the sink! It got real quiet and some girl said "aww he doesn't know what that means bless his heart" And I was like duh lady obviously I know the saying is one in the pink and two in the sink. I was making a joke. Dumb broad probably didn't even know who Link was!
I even got detention because of that stupid saying. I had a pink notebook that I would take notes in during class. One time the teacher commented that it didn't look like I had copied down all the notes he had on the board. I said that is because some I write down and some I memorize. I then said one in the pink and two in the think and pointed at my head. The teacher got all mad and said that was inappropriate and sent me to the office. People seem to get really weird when you try to change the words from pink and sink to make a joke.
I know many of you here are from outside the United States so I'm not sure if the ole pink sink saying is even a thing in other far off lands like Australia. Melancholy surely has heard of it before since he is a fellow Whosure. So to those who have heard it before does it have to do with a pink dishwasher or am I just not thinking fourth dimensionally?
