I get the feeling that Texans don't have the highest opinion of snow
It sounds like an absolute shitstorm down there. None of their buildings were built for this type of extended cold snap, so pipes are bursting and their electric grid isn't holding up. States like Oklahoma and Kansas seem to be fairing better since they're on a multi-state grid. We're still having a few rolling black outs up here in South Dakota to help out, but it sounds like they're pretty short (20-40 minutes).
So 9 days of summer left and I got my first sunburn for the season.
I’ve noticed that this summer hasn’t been as hot in my area as the past few years and we’ve had fewer storms, and more rainy days even if less water.
I’ve only had the A/C on about once or twice a week on average as opposed to 2017-18, 2018-19, and 2019-20 where I blasted it all day every day.
Even my sunburn is a mild one, I was out for a couple of hours yesterday which would usually be enough to roast my arms, back of my legs, ears, nose and the top of my head and forehead. But this summers burn is just the head and forehead. Which is odd but I guess my hair is still thick enough on the sides to provide some shade.
quite a warm one yesterday, but not bad as it didn’t even hit 32, and I didn’t feel myself burning, might be a bit of windburn adding to it as well.
Just a random ramble as I wasn’t expecting a summer this nice.
It’s been raining a little for a few days and it’s quite inconvenient to my plans to do stuff outside.
But at least it’s not pissing down here like Sydney.
The good news is that Sydneysiders have already started on the planning to rebuild everything in their floodplains... they are just waiting for those annoying floodwaters to go away.
Rebuilding homes in bushfire and flood prone areas helps keep Australia’s economy strong!
It's quite cold this morning. Went out for a smoke at 4AM and it was nice, but I've just gone to the post office and shops and the car says its 3 degrees and came up with it's warning about snowy and icy roads.
THREE! I know it's the middle of winter and all, but 3 degrees at quarter to 9 in the morning is just silly.
It should be at least 8 by now!

I'm ALL OUTTA ICE CREAM!
It's true ya know
It's been a solid 32°C here in South Dakota for the past 2-3 weeks, here's the temperate map as last night's big thunderstorm moved in:
Coincidentally, it's cool today as the HVAC guy finally fixed our air conditioner
as long as you've got Chilli, Red Hot TEXAS style chilli and Boiling hot TEXAS style ginger ale, you'll be right.

What is the Celsius shit this is AMERIKUH
It's an Australian board, so you guys do us the favour of converting to units of measurement that make sense.
It's like when we post on american boards we convert KM/H to 472 Detroit house fronts per 38 seconds or 1946 hot dog lengths per time it takes to skull a 2 gallon bottle of coke.

I chugged 40 rods of Pepsi at our family picnic on July 4th and that's the way I likes it!
Fun fact: The BlueGuerilla server is hosted deep in an abandoned iron mine out in Western Australia near Tom Price.
It's that special time of year where one part of the state looks like a freaking Christmas card, while the flat-ass Kansas-looking parts have a tornado warning.
This was the first year tornados were bad in my region of the US. The extra heat from global warming made some very violent weather on the east coast this summer.
"Another wave of thunderstorms has knocked out power to thousands more homes across South Australia — and even forced the brief evacuation of the weather bureau's Adelaide office"
Whats the damage?
I dunno, the damage report machine's been damaged!
In Melbourne it's been a little blowy. But more interesting than that has been the rainbow coloured lighting this morning. (Just after 5)
I thought I was seeing things when I was seeing green flashes, but then I saw 2 more green ones, a blue one, a couple of standard white-blue ones, another green one and then out of nowhere a fucking orange one.
It's like the southern lights but only in lightning form.
