The Weather Thread
It's just a little wet in Queensland.
Nice and bright for 1pm. That's the reserves playing, the seniors could be playing in front of a record low crowd if it's still like that tonight.

In Queensland, you'll be in 5 feet of flood water and it'll still be 40 god damn degrees!!
You'll be in a tropical cyclone, and not knowing what is water or sweat...
DAMN QUEENSLAND!!!

I was right about the crowd, it was the lowest attended AFL game since 1992, which was funnily enough at the same venue when Brisbane were playing there. The fans were probably worried about drowning.

One player hurt his knee, although I don't think it was that bad of an injury and he should play next week.

That's impressive since it looks like they're running on a Slip n' Slide.
The NFL has played in blizzards but never rain like that. But it's easier to run in snow than mud.

Re: The Weather Thread
LOL that's a lot of snow.
A few years ago the AFL brought in a rule that stopped players diving/sliding into players legs below the knees after a player had his tibia snapped in half, which I think might have happened on a wet day. That has cut down on those sorts of injuries. Players still get a lot of leg injuries but it's more due to landing awkwardly when jumping.

Here's another pic, looks like it's right before the other picture.

And another from the reserves game.

Melbourne weather: Snow falls in Ballarat as cold front hits Victoria
It's bloody freezing. Took the dog for a walk earlier and walking into the wind at the footy oval was like getting hit in the face with a sheet of ice.

I wonder how they judge the "feels like" bit? the wind does make it feel colder though.

It's bloody cold here too. Currently 8.5C.
It's been raining most of the day and hailing earlier in the day. According to one site it apparently feels like -0.8 at the moment.

If only we could swap weather.
The sections of Australia Zoidberg and I both live in don't get ridiculously cold like some other parts of the country.
I bet this is summer for Matisfaction though

Re: The Weather Thread
It's always the wrong temperature!!!
if it's less than 10 outside I make it over 30 inside.
and if its more than 30 outside I try to make it 10 inside.
I make it opposite to what nature dictates, because fuck you nature!
In the summer I can't sleep on a 28 degree night, in winter I can have it 35 in my bedroom and cocoon myself in blanlets and sleep fine.
In the winter I don't like a 15 degree day, but in the summer I'll sit a foot from an aircon jet with icepacks all over me!
heater and aircon settings for car and home: off or full

I hate summer and love winter as long as the roads aren't icy because it's a pain in the ass driving an hour to work at 6 am behind plow trucks (unfortunately not Mr. Plow.)

This is true. Cold weather was invented by Canadian scientists in the 1800s.
