Re: Coronavirus thread
My gym is closed for two weeks starting today, the city has basically banned any gathering of more than 250 people, and all state high school sports tournaments have been cancelled. I worked from home today because I can, I hope that this whole situation means more people can have this flexibility in the future.

I'd say I ignored it for the joke, but I coudent be bothered to notice really. In personal news I'd better not get sick any time soon, the DR's sent me a text saying they are only doing phone appointments due to the virus scare, no face to face stuff, surely if anywhere is able to handle a sick person its the docs

Also, that's surprising. You'd think if anyone wanted to see someone in person for illness, it would be a doctor. Crazy times!

It started with bog roll, and then it spread to any sort of liquid soaps. NOW it's spread to any sort of paper based product, any sort of soap, pasta and sauce, rice and noodles.Hawq wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2020 7:08 am my biggest query in all of this is whats with people stripping shelves of bog roll? a symptom isnt shitting yourself to death for gods sake
Here in Aus we have 2 big supermarket players: Coles and Woolworths. Both around me are out of all the aforementioned products as of 8 this evening.
There are also smaller supermarkets: mainly Foodworks, IGA and Aldi.
I am surrounded by lots of them all (I'm in a smaller suburb between 2 bigger suburbs) colesworth are out of basically ALL the staples...
Still stock at all of the smaller ones though. Can still get ALL the products at local stores, and 711.
THE PROBLEM is, the sports bodies and government have cancelled the F1, and having crowds at football and cricket games. AND now saying having crowds of 500 or more shouldn't be done (Unless religions want big congregations, because God's love will stop them getting infected of course)
Tell the population they SHOULD panic and they fucking have, and thus we have people fighting over fucking toilet paper. Like they've never had to wash a cloth with a bit of shit on it.

I actually almost started some panic buying myself tonight!
I picked up a single block of old gold peppermint, and 2 2 litre bottles of coke... By the time I'd made my way out of the isle, 5 more people had grabbed a bunch of coke (3+bottles).
If I was a toilet paper magnate, I'd be starting to make Corona Virus Resistant, Bushfire Relief, Holden Tribute toilet paper and charge $20 a roll!

I tell you what, I'm glad I got the fuck out of retail quite some time ago. Fuck trying to deal with this shit. Dickhead customers, people panicking for no reason. Worst of all, it would make my job so much harder having to get everything restocked because the shelves are empty. I was department head, but I'd have to be doing the pleb working stocking the shelves because there's so much shit missing.

I went to Big W & to Woolworths today to buy different things, but checked the TP aisles to see what was left and they were both totally cleaned out. No tissues either.
I'm going to need to buy some in about a week and a half, so the pricks better have stopped their panic buying by then.

West Virginia is the only US state without Coronavirus. Even the Coronavirus is like "Ew, that's gross."
