Controversy! Plagiarism! Animal cruelty! AI! Pokemon with guns!
Palworld is looking like it could be 2024's biggest selling game, but some people aren't happy about it due to it copying Pokemon and something about AI blah blah blah.
Palworld is a game about living a slow easy-going happy life with mysterious creatures called "Pal'' or throwing yourself into life-and-death battles with the villainous poachers. On your adventures in Palworld, you can befriend Pals and explore the vast world happily together.
It's the game everyone's talking about. Tom Morgan investigates Palworld's early access release on Xbox consoles, including Xbox Series X, Series S, One X and One S. How does the game-of-the-moment hold up in terms of visual quality and performance? And just what happens when you play it on a base Xbox One S?
So a friend bought me the game and I'm downloading it now.
Not sure I'd have wanted to play it myself, but he says it's everything he's wanted Ark to be for 10 years and everything he's wanted Pokemon to be for 20 years, so I'm kind of wishing the download would hurry up.
I am sceptical because from everything I've seen it looks like a conceptual fucking nightmare and a Hodge podge of parts of games that don't particularly work together.
But I keep an open mind, and since I didn't have to buy it, or go to the effort of pirating it, or even leave the house to play at someone else's, I'm much more excited to try it for myself than I otherwise would be.
