It's sad, but E3 is dead.
From a business side it's probably not needed anymore and companies can release their own showcases whenever they want.

The writing was on the wall for E3 when Sony pulled out... That's the moment it really died.
An E3 without Sony is not an E3. They won the first ever E3 with a cakewalk, hands down, by a country mile. So without Sony, there was no soul.

The Wii and PS3 announcements were the last few things I remember caring about. By the time Microsoft wow'd the world in 2013 with that awful Xbone announcement, I was checked out.
