-- Evolve is going to focus less on using talent that has contracts with Lucha Underground, TNA and ROH. That’s part of the WWE relationship as I’m sure WWE doesn’t like the idea of a guy they have under contract like Gargano working as a tag team with the TNA champion. Gabe Sapolsky said they aren’t closing the doors to talent under contracts to those groups, but the focus will be to use the promotion to showcase people who would be able to move to WWE. Thatcher will be off the May shows. Stokely Hathaway will be a regular in Evolve managing TJP. The plan is also to run more shows with the WWE relationship, with the plan of running two shows a weekend once every month instead of every six to eight weeks

According to Jimmy Jacobs twitter, indy wrestler Christian Abel has died. He was part of some AAW shows and the original House of Truth. Details coming soon.

Yea, although he must be a super fan to write so many words and sit thru so much wrestling to write the Observer. I don't think he outsources stuff either like Super Chico does. Bix mostly writes it now I hear, with Vinny reviewing the shows and a few other guys doing other stuff.

Joey Styles fired from Evolve

Joey Styles was let go from Evolve tonight after making some unfortunate comments during the broadcast of Evolve 72.

During a promo segment opposite Stokely Hathaway, manager to Evolve World Champion Timothy Thatcher, with whom Joey has been feuding with to an extent, he veered off topic to say that despite Evolve vice-president and booker Gabe Sapolsky forbidding him to make political jokes, he had a live microphone. He proceeded to compliment ring announcer Joanna Rose on her appearance before suggesting that the president-elect might like to “grab her by the—”, cutting himself off and saying that the word he left out brings him to Mr. Hathaway.

The promo segment finished and the main event went on as people voiced their displeasure to Evolve. Mr. Sapolsky then Tweeted the following statements:



If there’s one thing you can say about Evolve, it’s that they always have a prompt response to customer dissatisfaction.

It's too bad, I'd love to hear Joey call a good wrestling card again. I wish he could replace Striker on LU. I think he and Vamp would be a good team.
