That has a one billion percent chance of happening if Russia gets Ukraine relatively unscathed. Xi has kept silent about Ukraine because he's jealous.Ocelot wrote: Sat Feb 26, 2022 4:33 am I have a friend in Hong Kong who has some very interesting theories about what China might do in the wake of all this. One of the things he postulates, given the buzz going around there, is that China might try something with Taiwan and trigger something more.
We live in interesting times.

Heroic Ukrainian Soldiers Who Told Russian Warship to 'Go F**k Yourself' Mourned After Video Goes Viral
On Wednesday night, Russian President Vladimir Putin launched an all-out invasion on neighboring Ukraine, the fledgling democracy that broke from the U.S.S.R. in 1991.
In the first day of fighting alone, more than 150 Ukrainians died as a result of Russia's attacks by land, air, and sea. Among those casualties was a group of 13 soldiers defending Zmiinyi Island, also known as Snake Island.
Located on the Black Sea, the tiny island's proximity to Ukraine's border made it a strategic location for fending off neighboring attacks
On Thursday, a Russian warship approached the island, warning Ukrainian soldiers that it would bomb them if they didn't lay down their weapons and surrender.
The Ukrainian soldiers' response in what would be their last moments went viral.
โI am a Russian warship. I ask you to lay down your arms and surrender to avoid bloodshed and unnecessary deaths. Otherwise, you will be bombed.โ
In a chilling moment, a Ukrainian soldier responds on a loudspeaker:
"Russian warship, go f**k yourself."
All 13 Ukrainian soldiers defending the island were killed in the subsequent attack.
But the bravery in their final moments had social media users rapt.
My God what heroes glory to Ukraine

Despite being heavily outmatched by Russia's formidable military arsenal, Ukrainians around the country have taken up arms against the invasion. Search engine queries in the country for "how to make a molotov cocktail" have skyrocketed. Ukrainian soldiers have, as of now, retaken the crucial Hostomel Airport despite heavy Russian attacks.
Twitter users praised the bravery of the Ukrainian people.
The will of the Ukrainian people will not be broken. When people fight (or in this case defend themselves) for a cause they love, the will to win is inspiring and fuels the people. (American Revolution, American Civil War, WWII, etc) Putin would be wise to remember history.

Iโm telling you, the world hasnโt given the Ukrainian people credit. They are some bad ass people. They have handled this way better than I think anyone thought they would. They are strong and resilient

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the soldiers will receive "Hero of UKraine" honors.

That guy who stayed for the fall of Afghanistan to tweet just flew into Ukraine. How bad does he need likes and retweets.

Ukrainian people are bad ass. Putin won't get this easy. They've got so many guns it's like if someone tried invading Texas.

Informative thread. This might explain part of the reason why Russia is pissed off about Ukraine's president: they got scammed.

This is only his 1,053rd apocalypse prediction. I will only be worried if he ever says "No, there's no way this is going to be WWIII."

If the reports of a 65Km line of the Russian army approaching Kiev are true, I suspect the country will fall.
