I remember the Saturday morning show too, CBS had a stone-cold lineup back then. I have a vague memory of my 11-year-old sister trying to explain why it got cancelled after his porno theater debacle. :olol:

Edit: Had to check the 1990 CBS lineup and yeah, that shit was good.
There was a theory he did it on purpose knowing Pee Wee would be finished. I don't know if I believe that because he didn't do much to make up the amount of money he lost. But maybe he thought he'd be edgy and in demand for adult roles (not the kind he jacked off to.)
I was thinking about it today too, that was a pretty tidy way to wrap up the Pee Wee character.

RIP Pee-wee
AWW.
Feels like Just yesterday he was on the second last episode of The Tonight Show (The tonight show died forever the very fucking second Conan left, fight me)

And Paul was the best (IE funniest) part of that episode featuring Robin Williams, Ben Stiller and Barry Manilow.
Pee-wee Herman explaining the the Tonight Show controversy was fucking hilarious.

Sixto Diaz Rodriguez, singer and guitarist from Detroit, better known by the mononym Rodriguez.

He recorded two folk rock albums in the early '70s, but achieved little success at home, so he mostly quit the music business and took a blue collar career. Unbeknown to him, however, his music was massively popular in South Africa, where he is said to have outsold Elvis. A movie about two fans trying to find his whereabouts, Searching for Sugar Man, won the Academy Award for best documentary in 2013.

He got a lot of criticism for sounding too much like Q Tip, but in 97/98 he was a pretty big star.
