Would Nuclear Weapons Erase Magnetic Media?
Obviously if it was close to ground zero it would be destroyed, but would magnetic media far away from the blast be affected by the radiation?

The radiation shouldn't effect it, but the electromagnetic pulse could wreck the electronic parts in a hard drive.

am EMP blast would also kill solid state media. In fact they would be more likely to be destroyed than a magnetic HDD.

It's happened. Starfish Prime created an electromagnetic pulse that caused damage in Hawaii 900 miles away.
