Re: Music documentaries/videos/concert topic
I'm about 1 1/2-hours into the new Billy Joel documentary. It's pretty well done so far, although I feel like it expects us to know a lot about Billy's discography and background. So the newcomers might be a little lost.
I want to buy the companion album but it's streaming only. And most of the platforms don't have the rights to his live tracks from Old Grey Whistle Test and Saturday Night Live. I can't find anything that says how we're supposed to be listening to these

This song is kind of forgotten about in America. I didn't even hear it until I went to a U2 concert of all places and that was their entrance music.

Now that you mention it, I didn't hear this song on the radio. And after I first heard it, I didn't hear it on the radio for absolute years. I didn't hear it on even an oldie station untill like 2010.
But all nighters watching RAGE at the turn of the century turned up a lot of one hit wonders, obscure stuff, old stuff, and out there weird things. This song had them all, so quickly become a favourite.
And I'd hear this song all the time on the music channels (both video and audio only channels) when we got cable TV.
I like it when Todd does real actual one hit wonders...

I'm assuming this is the original Anthology series from the 90s with extra footage.

I like the Thanksgiving Beatles release that Disney has done since the Get Back Tapes.
I have the DVD set of Anthology somewhere. But there were a lot footage of Paul, George and Ringo from 1994 that they can include. Like Paul told the story about how George put up a huge argument about making Now And Then to him in the studio.

I'm excited to rewatch it. I haven't watched the whole thing since I was a little kid.Bandit wrote: Sat Aug 23, 2025 7:47 pm I like the Thanksgiving Beatles release that Disney has done since the Get Back Tapes.

They're remastering the Anthology I to III albums too & there's going to be a new fourth Anthology. Just as long as there's no AI John & George vocals as that defeats the object of the archive material, keep it original.
