I've checked out James May and the Dull Men.
This show is dull, and not dull in the way that everything James May does is dull. I think the absolute tedium comes from all the other men. The show is like manlab but less ambitious.
Outside of cars, I've watched James May play with dolls, put together Model trains, cook random shit, go to boring places and talk endlessly about dull and mundane things for most of my life at this point...
This is the first time I've lost interest in what he's doing and I struggled to finish 2 episodes.
The problem is James May is not a dull man, he's a very interesting man who enjoys dull things. Everything else on the show is boring and drawn out. They could make the episodes 5 minute YouTube clips and it would achieve the same results. And on the subject of YouTube clips, I watch pretty much anything he puts on YouTube...
Over thinking and over engineering solutions to problems that don't exist should be a perfect James May show, and maybe it's just because I'd rather do my own boring things, but this is a terrible show.
Bring back the Grand Tour!

4 episodes of Clarkson's Farm season 4.
Continues to amuse me with his antics.
Richard Ham and Harvey Swinestein were great, seeing the pigs now turn into the new sheeps is great (a fucking nightmare)

King of the hill reboot - first episode.
Loved it. Loved the acting, loved the jokes, loved the plot, loved the music, loved the feel of the characters. It's almost like the show never left and almost a flawless victory of a reboot... Almost.
But something about the animation is not sitting right... It's too digital and clean and movement seems wrong, and the mouths on everyone look weird...
I suppose I'll get used to it.
I finished Netflix Hank, yeah! Did you know that when you get to the end of Netflix you get something called a wellness check?
I'm not sure if I want to binge the whole thing, or watch it week by week like the old days.
I started at 9pm tonight, by the time I finish the reboot it'll be at like 1 in the morning on a random Thursday.
I've missed this show...

Re: What have you been watching on TV?
I thought the first episode was OK. Not great. I probably made a mistake in watching season 2 and 3 a few weeks ago, so some of the voices and the animation were a little jarring. Johnny Hardwick did 6 episodes, which I assume are the first 6*. His voice was sounding odd. I prefer younger Bobby and Connie, but obviously the aging will open up a lot of new situations.
Second episode: Better. It felt more like King Of The Hill. Tom Petty's Runnin' Down A Dream!
*Johnny Hardwick does the first 3 episodes plus 5,6,7.

Alright, here's why the voice is all over the place:

I watched episode 2 tonight. When Tom Petty started playing my eyes watered up.Dr. Zoidberg wrote: Tue Aug 05, 2025 11:37 pm I thought the first episode was OK. Not great. I don't like that Breckin Meyer isn't Joseph anymore (but Pamela Adlon was deemed fine for Bobby) they'd better have found a good damn role for him instead...
As Hank would say: that's asinine!
I suppose I'll still hear from Breckin when there's a new robot chicken once every 5 years.

Re: What have you been watching on TV?
I've watched all the new KOTH episodes now. Overall it's good. Looking forward to season 15.
No mention of Luanne. I get why they wouldn't want to recast her (or Lucky), and it would be hard to find someone that could do the voice the same way Brittany Murphy did it. A mention of her and her kid would have been nice.
Kahn isn't as funny with the new voice (Ronny Chieng). He's still alright, though.

I don't know why they didn't just AI them. I'm sure Brittany Murphy and Tom Petty would have no issues with their characters living on.
