I'm debating if I should sell my copy of American Wasteland now while the price is sky-high, or actually try messing around with this exploit that I will likely do once and never again since it takes 20 minutes.

You dont even need the game, just use Rock Band Blitz demo. I’m genuinely shocked by that announcement. I thought for sure Microsoft would be out of the console hardware business in lieu of cloud gaming and third party devices.

It's good news, even if I might not buy another Xbox console.
They've apparently sold close to 30m Series consoles, which isn't great compared to the numbers Sony and Nintendo are doing, but assuming they aren't making a loss on the systems, those are still solid numbers combined with them putting their games out on other storefronts.

Who knows, maybe Microsoft will farm the console hardware production out to ROG? It might make sense for one company to make consoles and handhelds with unified hardware specs. The handheld line gets 2-3 CPU/iGPU chipsets while the consoles get a beefier dedicated GPU. The strategic agreement might include some sort of walled garden approach, where Xbox-approved consoles have the same chipset or security chip. Then they could go to other digital storefronts (GOG, Epic and Steam) and demand a license fee for the privilege to run on Xbox-approved hardware.melancholy wrote: Wed Jun 18, 2025 8:01 pm I’m genuinely shocked by that announcement. The prospect of Linux gaming becoming mainstream might be too much for Microsoft to handle. They have too much money for anything to happen to Windows' market share in the long term. ... Maybe I'm paranoid

Here's some non-doom and non-gloom Xbox news.
