Unless it's Arch Linux it doesn't count

Does using an Arch wallpaper in PopOS! count?

Re: I switched to Linux
If the day ever comes where I can click an .exe file and have it operate the same as it would in Windows with the same or better performance I'll probably switch to Linux. I've dabbled with Linux in the past but when you have been using Windows since around 1993 and have used Windows 3.1/95/98/XP/7/10 it is hard to want to switch to another OS unless it can give you the same functionality as the one you are used to. If Windows XP was still getting updates and was compatible with the latest versions of DirectX I'd still be using it! The main reason I switched from XP to 7 was to play Just Cause 2 as it required DirectX 10 and the latest XP was compatible with was DirectX 9.0c. I then switched from 7 to 10 so I could play Forza Horizon 4 as it required DirectX 12 and the latest 7 was compatible with was DirectX 11.
I'm still on 10 yep that's right I haven't upgraded to 11 yet. But one day Forza Horizon 6 or GTA VI will end up requiring DirectX 14 and I'll be forced to upgrade. I do miss Windows XP, it was one of the best versions of Windows imo and that isn't just the nostalgia talking. It was such a HUGE improvement over 98. No longer did you have to put up with constant crashes and re-installing Windows at least once a year. I used Windows XP from launch day on October 25th 2001 up until around mid 2010. Well now that I think about it that isn't entirely true. I ended up using Windows Server 2003. If I'm remembering correctly somebody on DCEmulation posted where you could download Server 2003 for free but it was just a 30-day trial. But it was very easy to remove the 30-day limit. I was interested in trying it out so I installed it and ended up using it as my main OS for many years. I don't know if it was actually better/faster than XP but it seemed like it to me.
