Today out of nowhere Always the Sun by The Stranglers popped into my head out of nowhere.
So tonight I bought the single on vinyl for $10 with post!
I adore the song and surprised I didn't get a record of it about 20 years ago.

So the other night with some friends, Slipknot came up somehow, and I can't fucking stand them. BUT they have had one awesome song.
They're like NIN. It's all shit, but there is one GOOD song (and in NIN case Johnny Cash did it better!)
so I got thinking, do you think we could get Bob Dylan or Jeff Lynne or someone to do a good version of Left Behind? their one and only good song.
Ideally, I'd love to hear this song by Roy Orbison, Jackson C. Frank, or Tom Petty, but since they're all dead I'll settle for someone good but still alive.
Hopefully a few more years of AI training will give me the chance to hear this awesome song by someone who can actually sing

I’m not going to say it’s bad, I do appreciate his effort. But his vocals are just not strong enough to carry the song.

I think Melancholy is right. Either his voice isn't powerful enough, or the mic needs to be turned WAY up, or he needs to play a lot softer.
Drowning out your voice with an acoustic guitar is something that's almost impossible to do, and that cover does it somehow.

Re: What music are you listening to / buying
So Rap hasn't gotten any worse or better over the years, but what's with all the rappers names in the past 10-15 years?
It seems like every rapper in the world has a name like Lil Pisspot or Postman Pat or oXiMORON or XTenticlePorn, or Takeshi's Castle E27
I understand obscure punk and metal bands have taken most of the good ACTUAL gangsta names like "brutally pounding bitches asses" and rappers from the 70's, 80's and 90's already took the best stuff... But come on, I don't even want to hear a song from a person calling themselves spookhead murderer, Notoriously big D.I.K, TItaniam coated ghetto boomboxes or even Squadron of Nazi German Shepherds. Let alone any of this shit.
Actually, Lil Pisspot has some good tracks, along with lil perpetually poor kid now has fat stacks of paper Yall X!

Re: What music are you listening to / buying
Here's an actual buy!
Tears For Fears - Songs From The Big Chair (2014 Remaster) [180gm Vinyl]
Prime sale. There were some other good ones but they either sold out at the cheap price (Fleetwood Mac Rumors) or were just a bit higher than I wanted to pay (Licensed To Ill + others).
I was also interested in No Jacket Required but for some reason the new LP has older Phil's head on the cover instead of the original picture, which I don't like.

Yeah, I saw it, although I saw Tears For Fears when looking at other stuff at Amazon.
I don't really want to spend more than $30 on an LP. I'll wait for the next sale and see if some of them come down a bit more.
Did you get anything?
