Re: The Pets & Animals Thread
I don't know why, but sometimes I completely fucking forget that Koalas are just hanging out near my house.
I live 20-30 mins from the CBD, it's not like I live out bush or anything. I went outside the other week and my dog was going apeshit at this bastard in the tree
Some people have to go to a zoo and I just have to step outside
There's also kangaroos about a 1 minute walk from my house but I've never seen them

Re: The Pets & Animals Thread
Last time I saw a koala in the wild was like 10 years ago. I'm about a 40 minute drive from koalas. From my house is 40 minutes to the CBD, and 40 minutes in the opposite direction to the middle of nowhere.
The kangaroos are taking over though, used to have to drive 15 minutes to see any at all, now I only have to drive less than 5 and you can spot them. Still not as bad as Canberra though, their suburbs are riddled with kangaroos! redback spiders and Kangaroos.
Melbourne is too cold to see many of the deadly, deadly animals very often.

I'll be honest, whenever I see one that's not in a tree my first reaction is always "what the fuck is wrong with that dog?" followed by "oh wait"

Kookaburras are back near my house.
Been a long time since I've heard them this close to home. I wish they'd fuck off a few km away. Or sleep in for 3-4 more hours.
