so the Clash at the Castle kickoff show was the day before even before Smackdown rather han just before the ppv, confusing, but at least it wasnt padded with recaps of what led to match's (that was of course saved for the countdown show) it marked the first pre ppv show I've actually bothered with rather than fast forwarding through to see if they inculude a match(spoiler the countdown show did not, though thats more of an expected thng these days)
As for the show itself who got screwed? well a couple of screw jobs, or at least 1 occured
Cody Rhodes def. AJ Styles | “I Quit” Match - Well I didnt think it would be the first up but it was a pretty good start & once more the Britich crowd set the stage for reactions with 2 highlights from this match being "AJ Styles, is a wanker, is a wanker" (repeated again later on in the match) & the more standard "Fuck you AJ" AJ being bitch slapped by Codys mum was amusing as well. Owens & a returning Orton took care of the inevitable Bloodlone post match attack
WWE Women’s Tag Team Title - It was as OK match & I did enjoy it but was still thinking of the I Quit before it, good to see the British team win, though as the night went on there wasnt much else to celebrate there
Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn def. Chad Gable - Once again Gable pleads for Otis to interfere but following him running into Maxine after Zame broke free of him it didnt hapen & now its time to see how he tries to weadle his way into contention again. Technically a decent match but my god they've turned Gable into a complete git so they've made a large hole to climb out of in the future. Points for the crowd again with "Gable is a wanker, do do do dooo" & "You're just a shit Curt Angle"
WWE Women’s Champion Bayley def. Piper Niven - And heres where the night started to go off the rails, now I aint faulting the match itself, both performers did a fine job & I did love that when Chelsea Green first started off with her outfit leading to Barret making a Supergran reference that would be lost on most of the world I apreciated it though later got herself kicked out of ringside only to return 'disguise' wearing a lucha mask but otherwise the exact same outfit she had on before. Then Piper didnt win, at this point I though 'uh oh, I may be seeing Glasgow on fire in the news'
World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest def. Drew McIntyre - Well if I wasnt thinking 'uh oh, I may be seeing Glasgow on fire in the news' after the previous match I sure as hell was after this one but most of it was fun, from Cole being warned as Drew flashed the 'V' at him with Wade warning him & then Drew getting fed up with it taking too long to untangle Priest from the ropes after the ref stood there like a staue (it amusued me as it doesnt hapen that way too often) of course despite masive crowd support it seems they just cant have Drew win at home as the ref was 'knocked out' & the crowd counted to about 15 before a new one came & of course stopped counting at 2 because it was Punk screweing Drew again & then once more with a swift kick in the knackers.
I'm all for a good fued but dont have it fuck up a good title match & dont have the 3 Scotice lots in title matches come away with one 1 winning & the least populse of the 3 at that.
Overall it was mostly pretty good fun but those endings were just dumb.

I don't get the Wyatt thing and I'm never going to get the Wyatt thing. I was a big Undertaker fan growing up, so I'm not opposed to supernatural stuff. But the difference is Taker and Paul Bearer were really good at what they did. I don't think anybody else would have made it work like they did.

I think had Bray had a TV-14 framework for his creativity he could have made the Fiend and the other characters more sinister & more Ministry era Taker-esque. I think his best character really was the southern preacher /cult leader thing he had in FCW/NXT with Brodie & Redbeard. That worked best I think as there's a believability to it. Bray's other characters were more suited to a sci-fi/Horror realm & I think he'd have made some fun B movies especially with his Firefly Funhouse, he was very talented yet his creativity was moreso for movies, TV etc

Nice seeing Rhea back. I don't think that arm is fully healed given how she wasn't really moving it all that much, so I hope she's careful and kept out of the ring for a smidge longer.
