Skynet.
And Iced coffee man if he sees this!
Has Farmers Union iced coffee gone downhill? Or is it me? I ask because you guys in S.A. are the experts.
So I bought some the other day. It was 2 days before best before and marked down to $1.64 for 2 litres, which is reasonable. I was always happy paying $4.30 for the 2L, and I stopped buying it when the supermarkets put the price up to $4.50... $4.50 was highway fucking robbery, and now they are taking the piss asking $6.30 normal price.
Anyway. It was a price I was happy with and I was looking forward to enjoying all 2 litres in one go because it USED TO be so fucking good, but my god IT WAS LIKE FUCKING WATER!
Seriously, it was like water with a hint of iced coffee, albeit very good tasting iced coffee, but I swear to god it was more watered down than even Ice Break (for those not familiar, Ice Break is about 98% water, 1% milk, 1% coffee)
So what the fuck is happening?
Have they made it crap all around?
Are they exporting shit to Victoria and you still get the good stuff? Or have my tastes changed?
All of the above?
I was so disappointed It took me 4 sessions to drink it all and I even shared some with my brother. It was pathetic.
All I can do is hope Dare doesn't go downhill, but I've never got that in 2L bottles.

Re: Skynet.
I asked CoPilot and was going to post the response as a joke but I actually got something useful.

It seems like opinions on Farmers Union Iced Coffee are mixed. Some recent reviews suggest that people still enjoy the taste and find it a good treat, especially when served cold with a scoop of ice cream or as a refreshing drink on a hot day1. However, there has been some controversy regarding the brand’s takeover, which has led to a call for a boycott by some consumers2. This could potentially affect public perception of the product.
If you’ve noticed a change in the taste or quality, it might not just be you. Changes in ownership or production processes can sometimes lead to alterations in the product that longtime customers might pick up on. It might be worth trying it again or comparing it with other brands to see if the difference is consistent.

Thanks Roofus and CoPilot. For an answer from something without tastebuds, that was surprisingly good.Roofus wrote: Wed Apr 10, 2024 10:43 am I asked CoPilot and was going to post the response as a joke but I actually got something useful.

But I'd still like the South Australians opinions because they've been experts in Iced Coffee since before Australia had computers!
It's funny copilot mentions comparing it with another brand. A side by side is originally how I discovered Ice Break was so shit, and that I liked Farmers Union more than chocolate milk.
I'd always get ice break when I saw 2 for one deals, then a friend said to finish his dare double espresso on a road trip one day right after I'd finished all my ice break and was still thirsty.
Since that very instant I'd take 500ml of dare for $10 over 20l of ice break for free any time.

Interesting. Lately I've been mainly drinking Feelgood (a girl has to watch her figure
... or a guy in my case) so I don't drink regular Farmer's Union too much. I'll grab some on the next grocery shop and report back.
I'll tag Iced Coffee Man for his take on it

I never drink the 2L bottles, only the 600mL cartons and they are still good

Hmm. I'll try a carton next time I see one.
Thanks.
I wonder how Skynets trial went.

I bought 3 and consumed all of them over 3 days, to get a baseline.Iced Coffee Man wrote: Mon Apr 15, 2024 11:10 am The man never bought a regular Iced Coffee in his life!
They all tasted the same. They were all fine
Although there are people who swear by the fact that on the carton, the number on the bottom will impact what kind of flavour you get. I used to hear this all the time when I worked at a supermarket but I never really confirmed with my milk rep

I didn't see any in the servo today, but next shop or when I'm in a bigger servo I'll check one carton out and let you know the number in case it's good or crap like the big bottle was.

Re: Skynet.
I cant even remember what was supposed to be the good number, maybe 1? It could be 1-4, it's stamped on the bottom of the 600ml and possibly the 1Lian wrote: Tue Apr 16, 2024 4:52 am I didn't see any in the servo today, but next shop or when I'm in a bigger servo I'll check one carton out and let you know the number in case it's good or crap like the big bottle was.

Re: Skynet.
I got a 600ml carton, and same problem as the bigger one, so it must be me or Victoria is getting the bad stuff.
The number 5 was stamped on the bottom.
It still just felt like drinking good tasting delicious water, not a delicious iced coffee with milk at all.
Bummer. back to dare it is (I wish dare had 2L of their 20 other flavours not just espresso.) maybe I'll try again one day if I ever end up in S.A.

Dare double espresso is my go to. In fact, I'm going to have one right now
