A 17-year-old teenager was shot and killed by a cop during a traffic stop in a Paris suburb. Police witnessed Nahel Merzouk speeding in a bus lane and shot when he tried to drive away. A few links:

Nationalists have been having a week with #ParisHasFallen on Twitter. They'll tell you it's the end of France. The riots are terrible but not exactly the most surprising thing given France's history.

There's a lot of nuance that I'll never know about the situation, although dragging a running chainsaw behind your motorbike is next-level mayhem. :whatthe: :olol:

A ship ran into bridge in Baltimore, and a lot of it has collapsed.

Man has always loved his buildings, but what happens when the buildings say no more?

The conspiracies have started, and Jesus some are hilariously out there...

Jet fuel can't steer LGBT cargo ships in Palestine, Russia and China!

And my one isn't even the craziest you'll see.

Was at work earlier & a woman asked about the fire, I was confused so she pointed outside & I saw a ton of smoke, turns out it was this

rather annoyingly my house if opposite those first 2 semi's so police cordon the area (& all side streets) & it took until about 5 past midnight before we were let back home

That sucks, at least the fire didn't spread to your house though. I understand them shutting everyone out though.

We had a large warehouse fire here in Melbourne recently (on the opposite side of town to me) and people were stopping on the freeway and roads right next to it to watch... While gas cylinders were exploding and shooting into the air in various directions.

That's a big fire. Glad it didn't spread to your house, Hawq.

Yeah we're all fine guys, seems the furthest it spread was a house next door to the place on fire, they only took the tape off the side streets short a time ago & are apparantly keeping the main road closed bu moving the cordon along a bit, good news for the shop as evryone had to park in a side street & walk to up to bring donations today. Never seen it so quiet unles theres a big match on, though I'd prefer that to this reasonm, still cant believe how long it was before they let us home & that no cops mentioned the Alex was open to allow peple somewhere warm to sit & get a brew, starting to understand a lot of attitudes toward the plod now, oh & theres been an arreast over it

Guy from the police just came round asking if I'd seen anything suspicious before the fire or the day before, well I was at work so no, asked my mum if she had but she hadnt. More to it than a kid starting fires maybe?
