If you hadn't you should! I was into virtual pinball for a little awhile about 10 years ago and then didn't really mess with it. I just tried out a few tables and wow it has gotten MUCH better! Here are some tables I highly reccomend
https://vpuniverse.com/files/file/5489-acdc/ (specifically AC-DC_Back In Black LE-1.5.rar)
https://vpuniverse.com/files/file/8449- ... d-edition/
https://vpuniverse.com/files/file/7254- ... n-limited/ (VERY AWESOME!)
I've downloaded many tables but have only tried out a few so far. What I like about the three I listed is that they are loud. I can crank up my speakers and subwoofer and it's pretty cool lol.
If you're interested in trying it out first you need to download "VPX All-In-One Installer v10.7.2"
https://github.com/vpinball/vpinball/re ... 2setup.exe
After that you should be able to just download the tables and run them. You do need to make an account at vpuniverse to download tables but it is worth it.
I was just having fun with these and thought I'd share!

Re: Played any Virtual Pinball lately?
I played space Cadet pinball when it was new!
And tried a pinball game on PS1 recently that wasn't very good. Aside from that, I don't think I've ever played virtual pinball, unless you count Kabounce.
If you count Kabounce, virtual pinball is fucking awesome, but the problem with dead multiplayer games is there's no one to play with.
Come to think of it. The last time I played real pinball was ages ago.
If I see a pinball machine it's usually a big MEH. And it's only when I see like a Ghostbusters, or back to the future or Metallica pinball machine that I actually think.
YES! I'm going to play pinball and love it.
Virtual pinball could be good. Say a 34" 4K 144Hz HDR MONITOR with literally every pinball machine ever on it for about $499 AUD would get me into virtual pinball, but outside of that the reward for how much effort that goes into setup of virtual pinball and effort and expense and space that goes into real pinball is just never worth it for the 20 minutes at a time I want to play it.

I have an Arcade1Up 3/4 size virtual pinball machine sitting right behind me. It sits between my MKII Arcade1Up and my SF2.
I also modded it so I could install other tables. It's pretty fun, although the screen looks like ass at 720p. I've also dabbled in Virtual Pinball on my PC as well, just swinging the monitor 90 degrees so I can play vertical.

I shouldn't talk about my arcade cabinet like this, but building one was a lot more fun than actually having one.ian wrote: Wed Oct 11, 2023 6:56 amVirtual pinball could be good. My brother and I had the same roommate in the college. He had a actual Bally's pinball table from the 70s and we turned it on once for a party. The damn thing was so loud in a tiny house that it shook the floors and drowned out everything else.

I can totally understand that. It seems awesome that you've got an actual stand-up arcade machine with any game you want! But in the end you play it a few times then it just sits unplugged. It'd probably be the same with a virtual pinball table. It would seem really awesome at first but after a few days you wouldn't play it anymore and it'd just sit unused.pixel wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2023 12:14 am I shouldn't talk about my arcade cabinet like this, but building one was a lot more fun than actually having one. That said, you're right: I dream about having a nice full-sized virtual pinball table. Lots of advantages to having the real thing.
I'm just playing on PC with a 58" TV as the monitor. Using the bumpers on the Xbox One Wired controller for the bumpers.
That is the best part! That's why I like the tables I listed. They are loud in a good way and sound great with the subwoofer cranked up.pixel wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2023 12:14 am He had a actual Bally's pinball table from the 70s and we turned it on once for a party. I've gotten a few more tables since my last post. As of this post I have the following tables
You know what else would be extremely awesome? If someone here had the time and talent to make a Blueguerilla pinball machine! I've got the time but not the skill unfortunately. You gotta admit it would be wayyyy coooollll though!
You guys need to get into some virtual pinball! We could have weekly BG high score competitions! Each week a different person picks the game and whoever gets the high score wins.....bragging rights?

Re: Played any Virtual Pinball lately?
I would actually play Willy Wonka Pinball.
The ball would be coloured like an everlasting gobstopper, when you put in more coins the golden geese would light up to show you how many balls you have left!
Collecting all the golden tickets with a pinball would be awesome.
And then if I tilted the table, Gene Wilder shouting at me: YOU BUMPED INTO THE TABLE WHICH HAS NOW BEEN TILTED SO YOU GET NOTHING!
YOU LOSE!
GOOD DAY, SIR!
and I'd call the game a cheat and a swindler, and ask the owner for my $6 back and use it to buy a scrumdiddlyumptious bar!

This is how it goes. I was super into Virtual Pinball and thought it was awesome, downloaded a ton of tables and now haven't played them in weeks and almost forgot I even had them.
