Well kind of. I've been messing around with my Quest 2 lately. It has been just sitting unused for quite awhile now. I downloaded a VB emulator awhile back but didn't know if it supported VR. I was surprised when I opened it up and it immediately went to VR mode! I tried a few games out and it is decent I guess but I would have been very dissapointed if I had got one back in 1995. Some of the 3D effects aren't bad but like the AVGN said in his review "This isn't 3D Boy it's VIRTUAL Boy!" There was no attempt at a virtual reality game at all. Teleroboxer was the closest one.
While the 3D effects like decent and the visuals are crisp and clear I have to imagine it didn't look quite that good on original hardware. Virtual Boy is the kind of thing that would have been neat to try out back in the day but not worth owning at all. A good thing about the emulator is that it allows you to choose from red and black or black and white. I did red and black at first for that authentic feeling but ended up switching to black and white as it looks better overall. I wonder why they didn't just do black and white back in the day? It makes more sense than red and black.
I might try and play Wario Land VB some and see how it is since I think that is considered the best VB game. The emulator was running the games fine but was having audio issues. I need to look and see if that can be fixed.
I finally played Virtual Boy for the first time!

They wanted to burn the red into people's retinas.

If you haven't played a real one, you aren't missing much, they are terrible.
The best game was Marios tennis, and if the virtual boy used all shades of green instead of red, it would have been an actually good game.
A the virtual boy was a bunch of brilliant ideas all executed horrendously.
The opposite of a Wii.

I always hear Mario's Tennis is one of the best for the Virtual Boy. I tried it and it's OK, just your standard basic tennis game.ian wrote: Sat Sep 02, 2023 4:33 pm If you haven't played a real one, you aren't missing much, they are terrible.

So far I've tried
Mario's Tennis
Mario Clash
Nester's Funky Bowling
Red Alarm
Space Invaders (TERRIBLE!)
Teleroboxer (Couldn't get the controls to work right)
Wario Land
You are right about green instead of red. Golf certainly looks much better!
