I remember watching a video in 8th grade science class around 2002 that showed this "flying car" and said that it would be in production and available to purchase by 2005. 18 years later and I still haven't seen any at my local dealership!
I also remember watching some show about the possibility of the sun burning out sometime in the mid 90s. I can clearly remember a man on the show saying that the sun will DEFINITELY be burnt out by 1997.
