Not quite, But I am to light gun games what you are to ALL games.Dr. Zoidberg wrote: Sat Feb 25, 2023 5:06 pm Well, well, well...judging by the last two posts, ian owns every game ever made now.

I have quite a lot of light gun games, and have owned quite a lot more in the past.
Next (After I've finished all these gun games) I'm gonna buy a NES and hunt down every game that used the Zapper, because amazingly it had more than just Duck Hunt! After I play the NES light gun games, and House of the dead 4 and time crisis 4 I have played every light gun game ever made. Even the weird Japanese stuff like Highschool Zombie Panty Shooter Party Ultimate.

Knockoff GDEmu and mounting bracket for Dreamcast.
Noctua fan kit for Dreamcast.
So recently I've had the urge to play 18 wheeler, and since playing on a PS2 or GameCube will get me sent to hell as per my religion (The first church of gaming) and since I didn't want to spend 40 hours setting up an emulator, and since the game costs like $80, and since an arcade cabinet is very large and even more of a rip off than $80 I had no choice.
I figured the $130 will be a good way for me to play a bunch of Dreamcast games I sold ages ago with ease, whilst being cost effective, and with no more ODD in the system I figured I need a quiet fan.
2 games, and it's all paid for itself.

Oh, and the first church of gaming fully supports people's right to emulate, I just don't personally choose to do it when I have real hardware available to me.
As seen in the gaming bible:
"Hark, if a coveted game is being flipped by greedy hoarders or inflated by stupid collectors, ye may emulate the game in question if there is no current way to support the original developer of that game for that game, lest all old shit sells for the price of a sealed copy of Super Mario 64, which Nintendo made more than 12 million copies of including remakes. Lo, there is 12 million copies of the game.
Hark, it's not that special an item"
What the church is less forgiving of is playing a port of Sega game that is available on a Sega console on other hardware.
As seen in the book of Genesis (the book of Megadrive for all regions outside of USA):
"And lo, as the sun set on the Dreamcasts time on earth, Sega was forced to whore out their fantastic games which making properly drove them to the brink of bankruptcy to other, inferior systems.
Hark, they who plays a game on a PS2 or GameCube when it's on Dreamcast shall be forevermore forced to play all games with jagged edges for all eternity, such is the curse of the PS2 owner"
So there. I don't make the rules, I just follow them... Actually, I do make the rules, and they're good rules, and people should follow them... Or not, I don't care because I'm not making money from the First church of gaming.

I'm glad that the real hardware scene is less pretentious about emulation. I get angry when the scene looks down their noses at the serfs who dare play ROMs and ISOs. The eye-buggering price of physical games has probably softened their stance quite a bit.
Running real hardware with a file loader is the ultimate form. I have been buying more ports and official emulation packs because they are easier to manage.

Oh yeah, I bought another disk version PS5 last weekend.
I already have one, but that's a lowish fw (around 4.5) that I'm keeping in box
I also bought one of those stupid Xbox Series X fridges

It fits a handful of cans in it, so I have it in my study where my PC is and I just chuck a few premix cans or beers in it

Time Crisis: Razing Storm.
I was almost going to give it a miss when I thought it was only move compatible, but then I thought 'no that can't be right' so looked closer and saw it'll work with my Guncon 3's. Only $12 and when I opened it the disc and manual were mint.
I also got given back the Megadrive and Dreamcast collections on 360. I sold them cheap to a friend YEAAARSSS ago, and his 360 died. Nice to have the games back to go with the records which I might sell.

Panzer Dragoon Remake.
Super Bomberman R.
And Old Man's Journey.
All on switch and all VERY cheap. (All 3 were less than $10 with coins... couldn't even rent a game for that)
I know what to expect from the first two, but looking forward to seeing if old man's journey matches my journey... It's quite an old game and I imagine it's short as he'll get to the local shops and need a lie down after that.

Sega Dreamcast SD Card Reader and CD with DreamShell Boot Loader.
So finding all the rips in one place is hard, so I'm just gonna rip my own games, and if they work, sell them and buy more.
Dreamshell 4.0 has a ripper, and if it works, it's good times.
I did have to in mod my Dreamcast though, but if it works it's worth it, if it doesn't work out well, the adaptor was only $20 and I'll find a use for it eventually.
Also Old man's journey was a bit of light point and drag fun that was worth the $1.75 odd he made it further than the shops and the ending was sad but touching.

Playstation 5 Disc Edition
Saw The Gamesmen eBay deal on OzBargain, so grabbed it. AU$623, a decent price. Will I actually play it though?

Of course you'll play it, because as we all know you already own every ps5 game ever released worldwide but didn't want to pay the outrageous $800 for the system!
At $623 if it had a game even I'd be tempted.

It does come with Astro's Playroom.
The one with GoW was $650 but had sold out by the time I saw it.
