Need a good word processing software (NOT Lotus 1-2-3)

There's a potential Donkey Kong Null Screen coming up if anyone wants to watch

Need a good word processing software (NOT Lotus 1-2-3)

Post by Calavera »

I need to type up some business documents but I don't currently have any working word processing software for my microcomputer(PC). I do NOT want Lotus 1-2-3. I've tried it in the past and it is overly complicated and not user friendly at all. Not to mention it is horribly overpriced. What I need is a good 80-column word processor software package that is Whiz-ee-wig a.k.a wysiwyg (what you see is what you get).

There are so many software packages available nowadays that I'm not sure which one to pick? I was hoping someone here could give me a recommendation. So far I'm considering Wordstar,WordPerfect,SCRIPSIT 2.0,Lazywriter and Easywriter Professional. If anyone has used one of those or any others and can give me feedback on which would suite my needs best I would greatly appreciate it.

I need to get my documents typed up by the end of the week so I really need a wysiwyg word processor asap. I can always use the IBM Selectric II we've got collecting dust at an empty desk at the office but that is a last resort. Since I've been using computers to type it would be hard to go back to the ole' Selectric. It is funny that just a few years ago everybody was using one but now they seem like caveman technology!

My suggestion: Lotus 1-2-3

I think I'm missing the joke, but Lotus 1-2-3 is not word processing software.... Try Lotus Word Pro instead. Lotus Word Pro (or it's predecessors ami or ami pro) are the best.

You'll find it works much better as a word processor than spreadsheet software.

Sure it is, it is just a really shitty one. It doesn't make any sense to me. You have to type into these little boxes that won't fit more than a word or so. i have no idea why anybody would want to type like that.
