I haven't used my Quest 2 very much since first getting it. I was using it earlier and wondered if there was a better face pad for it as the stock one isn't that great and causes the lenses to fog up fairly often.
Since it is basically just a small foam pad I'd expect it to be around $10. Ha! Boy was I wrong.
$35! $35 dollars for what probably costs the company pennies to manufacture Even if it was half that price at $15 I would still think it is a bit high. To me $10 seems like what it should cost. It seems there are plenty of people willing to pay $35 for it though seeing how it currently has 3,297 reviews.
And it isn't just that one that is expensive. They all seem to be around that price. Here the other one I was looking at is $30. Amazon link for AMVR Resilient Facial Vent
So what do you guys think? Is it just me or is that a ridiculous price for a foam pad?
They know gamers are idiots, and they know people who own VR and the computational power to run VR have enough money to buy the solution to their poor manufacturing for an exorbitant amount.
It is an unfortunate truth of commerce. Sporting fans will pay a stupid amount of money for a brand of shoes because someone famous endorses them. Same with perfumes-absolute ripoff. Many things are exactly the same. Show bags, cosmetics, designer accessories, the list goes on.
As K said in MIB “A person is smart. But people are dumb stupid panicky animals…”
