They need to. I've never seen a system launch people cared less about than Series X. They're going to have to load up exclusives.

Well they've got a shitload of console exclusives now. COD, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Tony Hawk, Doom, Diablo etc., etc.

I find this a little ominous for the abusive weirdos at Activision/Blizzard, the sooner we get rid of Bobby Kotick the better.

I'm not a huge fan of one company owning this many AAA franchises, but then again I don't that many of them anyway. Regardless, we're headed to a new strange world of gaming where subscription services are king. Big cornerstone console releases will probably go away and be replaced with incremental updates. Microsoft tried to kill the optical drive too soon, but I figure they'll be gone from all game consoles in another cycle.

EXCELLENT.
Now if they could buy Take 2, Sony computer entertainment and Nintendo as well, we can have a Disney of the computer and games world.

Now Microsoft just need to buy Warner Bros games and they can fully own all the rights to rerelease No One Lives Forever 2. Just in time to announce the remake on the games 20th anniversary.
The game was stuck in licensing hell what with 4 companies all owning part of it (between developers and publishers)
