There will be a standalone version of the 2+ as well. It's not as powerful as some of the other new handhelds coming out but I like the screen ratio on this one. All the others coming out are widescreen.

GPD owners now have a choice! GameCube, PS2 and DC represent the line for retro gaming to me. Playing those on a handheld with upscaling feels like a dream.

Although this handheld seems like it is OK it sounds like it might be better to wait and see how some of the other upcoming releases are.

I built that mini itx machine back in 2019 with a Ryzen 2200G, it's crazy that two years later and we've got a slightly more powerful handheld version. $1300+ USD is a bit eye-watering for that luxury, but the available library is crazy for something like this.
