Re: What music are you listening to / buying
So our global calendars work on BC and AD... The musical calendar will now work in a similar way. Any music released this year or later is to be referred to as ADP (After Daft Punk) and any year before Daft Punk is (BHC) Before Homem-Christo. Any year between that is to be called DP. short for Daft Punk.
4 months After Daft Punk, and I can listen to them again. I just have to avoid certain triggers. I still can't touch any song I heard first off each album without being reduced to a pile of tears and stopping it after 10 seconds. Around the World, One More Time, Robot Rock, and Get Lucky are all still too raw... I have other triggers still, but I can at least hear them without stopping them.
And I've also been listening to a lot of my Bad Religion records before my awesome record player dies. This is the record player my late father pulled apart and I had to spend hours upon hours upon hours upon HOURS putting back together.
The player had an auto cue feature where you'd put a record on the top of the spindle and slide the switch to auto cue.
It would move a top holding arm to hold the record, drop the record, raise and position the playing arm, then lower it, and you'd be off.
Now that feature has stopped working, so I have to ignore the holding arm, and manually move the playing arm into position and lower it like a peasant...
Also. Why didn't Bad Religion do a 40th anniversary box set? I think it's because they didn't want to have to re release into the unknown again
I mean they don't have to be embarrassed about the album... It's not The Clash's Cut the Crap.

Oh man, Doolittle is such a great album. I think there's only one or two songs I'd skip on there, but it helps that most of the tracks are <2:00.
By that criteria alone, it'd be one of my favorites of any band.
I haven't listened to it in any great amount since the summer after my freshmen year in college. I went back home to work as a janitor at my high school, and I had just found out about the Pixies. So I spent the whole summer cleaning floors and lockers while listening to Doolittle and Surfer Rosa on my headphones. Hearing it again puts me right back there.
Bossanova was pretty good too:

Bossanova was great
Weezer did a great cover of it when they were still good

Yeah you're right
I was partial to The Happening, always loved the opening guitar and the outro
