Move over Nintendo and Sega: there's a Retro-Bit Generations console coming

After Nintendo’s Mini NES and Sega’s mini Mega Drive, game developers Capcom, Data East and Jaleco are taking center stage with their upcoming Retro-Bit Generations console, which'll allow you to play a boat load of cool retro games for a fair price.

Are you ready to go down memory lane?

The small-sized console will launch with more than 100 classic arcade video games, including: Captain Commando, Exed Exes, Forgotten Worlds, Ghosts ’N Goblins, Gun.Smoke, Higemaru, Knights of the Round, Mercs, Side Arms, SonSon and Varth. Of course, there’s a whole bunch more including Super R-Type, Ring King and Super Bases Loaded.

It’ll come with two USB-connected controllers as well as composite or HDMI cables to plug the Retro-Bit Generations console to your giant-sized TV. The console will also feature an SD card slot so that you can transfer your game save files.

The games will be loaded directly onto the console (like the NES and Mega Drive) which will be released in the fall for the affordable price of $59.99. Heck. At that price, nostalgia-addicts will be able to get all three mini-gaming consoles and play hours upon hours of classic games for a reasonable price. That should hit the sweet spot.

Will you get your hands on the Retro-Bit Generations console?

Retro-Bit Generations Game List Contains Capcom, Irem And Data East Classics

Rest easy, Super Noah's Ark is included

Clone consoles are all the rage at the moment, what with Nintendo's own NES Mini and RetroUSB's AVS arriving on the scene to remind everyone just how great the NES was, and still is. However, Retro-Bit is taking a slightly different approach by not focusing on a single system but instead creating an "all in one" console which contains a varied range of pre-loaded games.

The Retro-Bit Generations console was revealed a while back, and now a more complete list of included games has been published. It includes hits from Capcom, Data East, Irem and Jaleco - four names that 8 and 16-bit gamers will be intimately familiar with - and boasts a wide range of options, including HDMI and AV outputs, an SD card slot to save game progress and the ability to use save states.

Here's the list of games:

Interestingly, the official site for the console says that there are more titles to be announced. This list might therefore not be complete - or perhaps the aforementioned SD card slot will also offer the ability to legally load on new games at a later date?

The Retro-Bit Generations arrives this Fall and will cost $59.99.
