I had a fun time playing it back in 2016 and then some more in 2018-19 after I bought Let's Go Pikachu and got the Pokeball controller. My work is right next to a whole slew of Pokestops, but it's way too cold in winter. 
It's about -15°C before wind chill today.
I'll give it up to Niantic, they have been good at keeping the game interesting. I got bored with it that first summer, but there seems to be enough game mechanics now. I'd also say the game becomes a lot more fun when you can get one of those wearables and don't have to keep your eyes glued to the phone screen.
