2,337 people watched the XFL draft live on youtube. 6.1 million people watched the NFL one in comparison. And probably 90% of the XFL viewers were sports writers.

The name of an average XFL player looks like it's either from Japanese video game, online name generator, or a Key & Peele skit.

Just noticed that BT Sports in the U.K. are actually going to be airing live games. Dragons @ Defenders is the first one they are showing. I'm assuming the XFL was included as part of BT acquiring the TV rights to WWE programming.

Re: XFL Thread
If they're airing live that's actually a good time slot because games will start around 6 in your timezone, which is better than if they aired Raw or Smackdown live at 1 or 2 in the morning. Although I still doubt anyone will watch it.

Re: XFL Thread
To my knowledge BTSports haven't announced they are airing the XFL yet and I've seen no ad(s) for it. It just popped up in the TV guide as "Live XFL Football". So unless BT do start advertising it then I don't think it'll get a lot of viewers at all. The NFL does have a loyal following and BT does show College Football but I'd estimate that audience to be very niche. The XFL I don't think they have that unique selling point(s) the original did so I can't imagine the XFL will get many viewers here at all. The market would be incredibly niche since here Soccer, cricket & Rugby are the more popular. Then NFL, NBA and arguably MLB. NHL is on BT now too but the hockey following would be very niche also. So the XFL is we're comparing sports would be really low on the totem pole.

Re: XFL Thread
Yeah, the XFL this time is just a third rate football league. It had to have the gimmicks of last time to get any attention. In 2001 it was the top story in sports for a few weeks, now nobody cares. But you can't sell being more dangerous than the NFL with CTE or be tawdry with the cheerleaders. And there's no Jesse Ventura type who'd make news for commentating unless maybe Dwayne Johnson were to do it (which he wouldn't.)

The XFL relaunch. I completely forgot about this trash fire until just now when I was looking for something to read while eating donuts. What a fucking garbage fire this whole thing has been. I love you guys.

This focuses mostly on the Tampa franchise but is a bit of a general overview of the XFL too.

Dwayne Johnson cutting an awesome promo for the Super Bowl and ignoring his boy Vinnie Mac.
