I kinda makes sense oddly enough.

At least on the PS4 not to many people even play the first level.

They spend half their development resources making a campaign that few people actually play. Ditching the single player story will lose some sales, but will also shed a ton of development costs.

The only single player campaign I've played more than 5mins of was CoD II.

Blops II on the Wii U only ever had like 1000+ people on MP and I still never played the campaign after 500+ hrs

I haven't played a Call of Duty game since MW2 and the only FPS games I've played since are Halo and Doom. I'm definitely interested in this game, though.

Apparently there's a part in the game which is "horrific", up there with killing civilians in the airport in MW2.
