Conservative commentator Glenn Beck's radio show was suspended from SiriusXM satellite programming after a guest on his show suggested that a "patriot" may have to use illegal means to overthrow a potential Donald Trump presidency.

SiriusXM said in a statement Tuesday that it "encourages a diversity of discourse and opinion" but that "comments recently made by a guest on the independently produced 'Glenn Beck Program,' in our judgement, may be reasonably construed by some to have been advocating harm against an individual currently running for office, which we cannot and will not condone."

The statement said SiriusXM is "evaluating" Beck's program "in our lineup going forward."

The news of the suspension was first reported by Breitbart. A spokesperson for Beck declined to comment when reached Tuesday by the Washington Examiner.

Last week, conservative author Brad Thor criticized Republican nominee Donald Trump and said that should he become president, he would need to be overthrown.

"With the feckless, spineless Congress we have, who will stand in the way of Donald Trump overstepping his constitutional authority as president?" he said on Beck's show. "If Congress won't remove him from office, what patriot will step up and do that if ... he oversteps his mandate as president, his constitutional-granted authority, I should say, as president?"

He added, "I don't think that there is a legal means available."

Beck, who has spoken out against Trump in biblical terms, replied, "I would agree with you on that and I don't think you actually have the voices we've been talking about and we've been talking about this off-air for a while."

Kim Jong-Un is 100% Trump all the way

North Korean state media has praised US presidential hopeful Donald Trump, describing him as a “wise politician” and “far-sighted candidate”who could help unify the Korean peninsula.

An editorial in DPRK Today, an official media outlet, welcomed the Republican presidential candidate’s proposal to hold direct talks with Kim Jong-un, saying he could help bring about Pyongyang’s “Yankee go home” policy.

“There are many positive aspects to Trump’s ‘inflammatory policies’,” wrote Han Yong-mook, who described himself as a Chinese North Korean scholar.

“Trump said he will not get involved in the war between the South and the North, isn’t this fortunate from North Korea’ perspective?”
Analysts said that although the editorial was not officially from Pyongyang, it was sure to reflect thinking inside the regime.

“This is very striking,” said Aidan Foster-Carter of the University of Leeds. “Admittedly it is not exactly Pyongyang speaking, or at least not the DPRK government in an official capacity. But it is certainly Pyongyang flying a kite, or testing the waters.

“For the rest of us, this is a timely reminder – if it were needed – of just how completely Trump plans to tear up established US policy in the region.”

The editorial referred to Trump’s speech in March, in which he suggested he would withdraw US military forces from Seoul if South Korea did not increase spending on defence.

“Yes do it, now … Who knew that the slogan ‘Yankee Go Home’ would come true like this? The day when the ‘Yankee Go Home’ slogan becomes real would be the day of Korean Unification.”

The article urged Seoul not to increase defence spending so as to prompt a US withdrawal, and urged American voters not to choose the Democratic hopeful, Hillary Clinton.

“The president that US citizens must vote for is not that dull Hillary – who claimed to adapt the Iranian model to resolve nuclear issues on the Korean Peninsula – but Trump, who spoke of holding direct conversation with North Korea.”

John Feffer, director of Foreign Policy In Focus, said the editorial indicated Pyongyang’s wish to break through Washington’s strategic patience policy.

“[Trump]’s the Dennis Rodman of American politics — quirky, flamboyant, risk-taking. At the moment he’s also an outsider. But Pyongyang is hoping that either he’ll be elected [and follow through on his pledges] or that his pronouncements will change the political game in the US and influence how the Democratic party and mainstream Republicans view Korean issues.”
The editorial came amid repeated calls for dialogue with Seoul and its ally Washington. Since May 17, Pyongyangpublished a government statement with the aim of improving relations with Seoul, and notified the South Korean government of a willingness to resume inter-Korean military talks.

South Korea dismissed Pyongyang’s call for talks but Pyongyang reiterated their intention to resolve the current inter-Korean deadlock through the dialogue.

Re: US Politics Thread: Mike Judge To Make Anti-Trump Ads With Terry Crews

Post by Bandit »

Mike Judge and Etan Cohen, the director and writer behind the 2006 cult comedy Idiocracy, have reteamed to pen a series of anti-Donald Trump campaign ads starring the film's wrestler-turned-president, played by Terry Crews.

The ads were fueled by a tweet Cohen sent as Trump began dominating the GOP ticket. "I never expected #idiocracy to become a documentary so soon," Cohen wrote in February, referencing the 2006 film that featured a seemingly unbelievable distant future where society was dumbed down to the point of idiocy thanks to television and pop culture.

Following Cohen's tweet, which was retweeted nearly 4,000 times, Cohen reached out to Judge about crafting campaign ads satirizing Trump, the screenwriter told Buzzfeed.

"We just thought it would take much, much longer to get to this point," Cohen said. "Obviously, when writing the movie, we knew that that was true about TV and movies and pop culture. But it was a crazy joke to think that it could be extrapolated to politics. It seems to be happening really rapidly."

The one hold-up before these bite-size follow-ups to Idiocracy can get in front of a camera: Judge and Cohen are waiting for Fox, the film's right holder, to give the go-ahead for Crews to reprise his role.

"The most dangerous contrast to Trump is that Camacho actually realizes he needs advice from other people, and knows that he’s not the smartest guy in the room," Cohen said, adding that he'd vote for Camacho over Trump because Crews' character is "not racist."

TX Rep. to Trump: Take the Border Wall and ‘Shove It Up Your Ass’

Image

U.S. Rep. Filemon Vela (D-TX) wrote an open letter to Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Monday morning telling the real-estate mogul to “take your border wall and shove it up your ass.” Vela says he agrees with several of Trump’s policies in theory, but that his controversial rhetoric on Mexicans is despicable. “Why any modern-thinking person would ever believe that building a wall along the border of a neighboring country, which is both our ally and one of our largest trading partners, is frankly astounding and asinine,” he wrote. “Before you dismiss me as just another ‘Mexican,’ let me point out that my great-great grandfather came to this country in 1857, well before your own grandfather. His grandchildren (my grandfather and his brothers) all served our country in World War I and World War II. His great-grandson, my father, served in the U.S. Army and, coincidentally, was one of the first ‘Mexican’ federal judges ever appointed to the federal bench.”

Re: US Politics Thread: Hillary Wins Democratic Nomination. Trump v Clinton. Jesus Wept.

Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton has laid claim to the party's presidential nomination after a series of victories in primaries.

Clinton won resoundingly in California, the largest state in the US and a key target of her opponent, Bernie Sanders. With 93 percent of precints reporting, Clinton won 56 percent of votes cast and Sanders 43 percent.

Clinton also took the states of New Mexico, South Dakota, and New Jersey on Tuesday evening before declaring victory over Sanders for the Democratic Party nomination. Sanders won North Dakota and Montana states.

Serving US President Barack Obama called Clinton to congratulate her on securing enough delegates to clinch the nomination.

"Thanks to you, we've reached a milestone," she said at a rally in New York, before taking aim at her likely Republican competitor, Donald Trump.

Clinton told supporters in New York that Trump was "temperamentally unfit" to be president, citing Trump's attacks on a federal judge, reporters and women.

"He wants to win by stoking fear and rubbing salt in wounds and reminding us daily just how great he is," Clinton said.

"Well, we believe we should lift each other up, not tear each other down."

Sanders has vowed to continue his campaign to next week's primary in Washington DC and further to the convention held in Philadelphia on July 25.

"The fight in front of us is a very, very steep fight but we will continue to fight for every vote and every delegate," he told a rally in Santa Monica, California.

Clinton declaration of victory comes a day after the Associated Press announced she was the presumptive Democratic nominee based on a count of elected pledged delegates and unelected superdelegates.

The Sanders campaign rejected that announcement as premature and said it would continue to campaign in California.

In an interview with NBC News, Sanders expressed concern that the news of Clinton's victory came the night before "the largest primary" and that it was based on what he described as "anonymous" commitments from superdelegates, who vote at the Democratic convention in late July.

"They got on the phone, as I understand it, and started hounding superdelegates to tell them in an anonymous way who they were voting for," he said.

"The night before the largest primary, biggest primary in the whole process, they make this announcement.

"So I was really disappointed in what The AP did."

Sanders is set to meet Obama at the White House on Thursday, the Reuters news agency reported.

This is a bad dream and I will wake up to a intelligent Cory Booker vs Rand Paul White House race, yes? People will watch the October debates and say "Wow, they're both so intelligent and have so many great ideas for America I don't know who to vote for."

My man Gary is eligible for debates to tell those two dipshits off and then smoke a joint at the post debate press conference now. Although when I run on the Libertarian ticket in 2020 I'll show up high even though I gave up weed in 2006.'

India firm gifts Trump 6,000 tea bags to cleanse his soul

New Delhi (AFP) - An Indian company Thursday said it had sent 6,000 green tea bags to White House hopeful Donald Trump, believing they would help him to become "smarter" and cleanse his soul.

The unusual gift -- which equals four years supply if drunk four times a day -- was from Kolkata-based Te-a-Me Teas, its executive director Sumit Shah told AFP.

Shah also said the company had set up a website -- www.teafortrump.com -- where people could tweet a message to Trump and urge him to drink the tea daily.

"We firmly believe green tea can do a lot of good to people. We thought green tea will help him (Trump) cleanse his mind, body and soul," he said.

"Green tea is also proven to make people smarter. So our message is, please Mr Trump drink the tea. For your sake, for America's sake, for the world's sake."

Trump, a political novice and a real estate tycoon, has riled critics with his radical views on Muslims and immigrants during an often vitriolic presidential campaign.

Next week, Trump is set to be formally nominated to run against his Democratic rival, former secretary of state Hillary Clinton.

The Indian tea company said it wanted to instil responsible leadership among famous personalities across the world and denied the move was a publicity gimmick.

"We don't even sell in the US. I guess with Trump it's just about the timing (of our gesture)," Shah said.
