Think I just lost everything on my old 200GB HDD
Damn thing threw up a S.M.A.R.T error at me indicating, according to the internet, that its dying out. Only problem is I cant remember whats on it to try to save or even if it can be saved as the option to turn that warning off so I can gab the data before binning the drive us something I cant manae to find. Will be getting a new PC within about a month a most but the loss of some stuff is anoying, any ideas a to where the option to turn smart off may be or what it may be called if named different? lousy oldide drive, guess I should be glad it wasnt a TB one thats gone

You should still be able to access the drive to back it up unless it's dead already. One of my drives has been getting that error for 6+ months and it still works although I haven't used it much since. After a while the error message will have an ignore error message option, I just selected that.
