Zoidberg could you tone down the site a little?

Are all these images and fancy things necessary? I've fell on hard times and had to downgrade my connection from 1200 baud to just 300 baud. It now takes 11 hours just to load the forum. I am using Netscape Navigator 2.0, could you please optimize the website for connections like mine? Thanks.
