It actually is pretty good. The graphics are stepped up a bit, nothing huge but some. It also does away with the keyboard controls and takes it back to a point and click interface. Now they just need to do the same with Escape From Monkey Island.

When was the last time you actually played through Grim Fandango anyway?

Around the middle of 2015, not too long after the remake was released. Before that, I couldn't say. I enjoyed Escape From Monkey Island though which ran on the same engine as Grim Fandango. The last time I played that? Damn, it was probably 2003 or so. It has been so long since I played it that I wouldn't even remember the puzzles, it would almost be like a new game again.
