Question about Just Cause 3

This is free for PS4 this month. Do I need to know anything about the first 2?

I'm currently getting it and will let you know if I enjoy it, I have never played any of them.
But I really, really doubt it.
I'm struggling to think of any game series I have played since Playstation 2 that needs the older games to enjoy the newer ones.
If you like the story, you can always go back to the older games. (what I did with uncharted and Resistance)

Its just a base jumping / explosion / rock climbing / suicide simulator.

the only benefit of having played the second one would be an instant familiarity with the grapple gun but as its dead quick to get the hang of it really doesnt matter, gonna have to go back & blow more stuff up sometime after I finish current game I think (unless Agents of Mayhem appears first then I'm gonna be lost in that)

I'm currently playing it and I really enjoy it. I've never played the original, I played Just Cause 2 quite a bit but never really did the story missions. Back then I had more fun putting on cheats and just screwing around. So no need to play the first two to enjoy the third.

Does the free version you are talking about come with the DLC? I have the XL version or whatever the hell it is called and it has the DLC pre-loaded. The main DLC you will want is the Air, Land & Sea expansion pass

I just tried it finally, and I kinda think it is a bit "ehh". I am not a big fan of infinitely spawning enemies, and being a bullet sponge. I had like 5 guys shooting at me and I was able to survive.
