I'll be very curious to see what sacrifices they have to make to get those to run.

Walked into that one..

That's an AWESOME idea.. In THEORY!!Dr. Zoidberg wrote:

The fact they've pushed the D-pad and the buttons up makes it look horrible, and I imagine feel awkward as well. Like they've ruined the perfect 2D controller.
Think about all the times you've used a SNES pad.. Now imagine the up button of the D-pad is right next to the shoulder button.
Seriously, picture yourself holding a SNES pad in the proper way, try to visualize it in your hands, remember that perfect feel.
Now Ram your thumbs up to that uncomfortable level and see how long it takes your thumbs to cramp from being squished upwards to a huge degree.
That design will make one of the best controllers ever made one of the most useless, uncomfortable, and stupid looking gaming devices in the history of gaming.

And if you're playing modern games with joysticks, picture ramming your thumbs in the opposite direction almost like you're playing on a cramped playstation controller

You can get them without the analog sticks.

I wonder if it's the same kind of custom built as FIFA 18?
Actually Skyrim is supposed to run really well on Switch so fingers crossed.

SNES controller with sticks and grips... Unless you count the original playstation controller before the sticks.. just a SNES controller with grips and a shittier D-pad

And two sets of shoulder buttons, the Dualshock 1 is the shitty "Noah's ark" of controller rip offs.
They couldn't quite manage to double up with the later versions like the sixaxis motion rip off, or the "Touchpad" that nobody uses.

Yeah, the touchpad is entirely useless, and the way the control glows is stupid as well.. not to mention share and options buttons.. GOD DAMN IT, WE HAD START AND SELECT FOR A REASON!
We're getting off topic here a bit, but before I go on, I will say that the PS4 controller is well built compared to the flexable, creaking, cheap shit that was the dual shock 2 and 3, and is even nicer than the xbone controller. They fixed the horrible quality, and the horrible triggers, and even made the D-pad a little nicer, gave it some good weight, and it could stand a pounding.. unlike the xbone controller, which is the exact opposite of the 360 pad, which was AMAZING. Xbone controller is shit in almost every way.

ANYWAY... BACK ON TOPIC:
I do have to see how the switch handles, but as far as I know even Nintendo can't get a D-pad right anymore (it's been a while since I checked)..
Can anyone confirm if the switch has the shitty 'clicky' D-pad as used on the GBA SP or original DS.. or if it has a real fucking D-pad as used on the nes.. Snes, 64, gamecube (albeit tiny), gameboy, gameboy pocket, gameboy colour, gameboy advance (although as tiny as the gamecubes), wii etc..

Re: Nintendo General Thread
They only added the touch pad incase the Wii U took off and to be fair to Sony, the third party Wii U offerings did look pretty interesting before they were actually released. (Deus Ex is still amazing though).
As for your dpad query, the only answer is to buy a Pro Controller.

The Wii U arrived today in a giant EB box. It was a waste of time buying Mario Kart 8, because it came installed with it. Oh well, only paid A$29 for it. Pity they didn't send the Mario Maker console instead.

Not bad, there's still a bunch of decent software on the Wii U and mega cheap now. Lots of cool stuff in the Nindie Selects Range and some of the "GamePad Enhanced" games like Deus Ex, NFSMWU (or as I call it, Burnout with a license) and Arkham City are well worth picking up.

Yeah, there's some good cheap stuff I'll be grabbing and have already grabbed, although I've got the GamePad Enhanced games you mentioned for other systems. Still might get them if I see them going for very cheap though.
