Yea it does, sounds terrible. I don't think the Sega MD/Genesis sound chip would have been too difficult to emulate. I guess the console uses some form of built in emulation and it's not a replication of the original MD/Genesis console in terms of the components used. But if it is generic hardware and emulation based even most emulator(s) get the sound 90-100% accurate so something has got muddled with the sound module/channels and that's why the outputted sound isn't right. Unless again they'd have to alter the music a little but it seems the sound in general is just bad.

So is the sound on Genesis especially hard to get right for some reason? Because it seems like almost everything that's not an actual Genesis sounds bad.

Think it's mainly due to shitty/lazy programmers. Even Sega screwed it up with the Sega Smash Pack on the DC.

They're also done on the Mega cheap, I bought the Street Fighter II plug in and play thing and it wasn't the best quality.

Here's what I don't get. I've spoken to some people recently who also called it Alex The Kid, because that's how they remembered it. They're wrong, but it was their memory failing them. They're people who haven't played an Alex Kidd game in years, BUT THIS GUY READ IT FROM A LIST AND STILL GOT IT WRONG. No one says Super Mario The Bros., so how do people get Alex Kidd so wrong?

Alex The Kid, on the Seeega Megadrive. That's the 15bit Seeega system right?

There are 20 very good games on it. All of them are on the Ultimate MD/Gen Collection though, and the emulation on that will probably still be better.

Also I'm not sure how accurate the list was that I was looking at (altered beast was mentioned twice)

Would be nice to have some third party action like the NES mini had, especially as the MD had unique versions of Castlevania and Contra.
But instead we get the same old blurb, Altered Beast and Super Thunderblade in 720p, hurrah!

There's a fix for the Radica model, amazingly it uses real Megadrive hardware which makes the audio issues even more baffling.
