Looking for a good youtube video downloader
As the normal one I use Easy Youtube Video Downloader seems to be having trouble currently, it wont do 720p the minimum I want to watch in & I aint paying for the 1080p version, & the other download plug ins seem to be the same way, apart from video downloadhelper but that leaves a big qr code in the bottom left corner which is anoying as hell, I figured I'd ask if anyone can reccomend an alternative to use until/if my reguler ones working agian. 360p feels like eye cancer

Re: Looking for a good youtube video downloader
I've used this in both free and paid versions. https://www.byclickdownloader.com/ It's alright but it always goes slow for me recently.
My main go to is this https://github.com/ErrorFlynn/ytdlp-interface Very easy to use and has a heap of different custom arguments you can use, but I tend to just go 1080p unless I specifically want something higher. It's free and based on yt-dlp but that's command line only, so the interface is nice and user-friendly.
I believe jdownloader still works well, but I've moved to ytdlp-interface because yt-dlp supports so many websites, including sites that have paywalls (assuming you have login credentials for it)

I still use jdownloader and for the most part it works well. With stuff that's labelled as mature on YT though you do need to stuff around with cookies to be able to login through the app to be able to download it.

You may need to do that in the one I linked above, but you can put an argument to say use cookies from a specific browser and that solves thatDr. Zoidberg wrote: Sun Jun 23, 2024 2:50 pm I still use jdownloader and for the most part it works well. I use yt-dlp for work and home, the only issue I've had is keeping the yt-dl core updated against Google's own updates.Skynet wrote: Sun Jun 23, 2024 1:18 pm I've used this in both free and paid versions. https://www.byclickdownloader.com/ It's alright but it always goes slow for me recently.

I'm actually blown away how good yt-dlp is for a free product. It works on so many websitespixel wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 1:32 amI use yt-dlp for work and home, the only issue I've had is keeping the yt-dl core updated against Google's own updates.Skynet wrote: Sun Jun 23, 2024 1:18 pm I've used this in both free and paid versions. https://www.byclickdownloader.com/ It's alright but it always goes slow for me recently.

Which means someday it'll be litigated into oblivion, taken over by some malicious outfit, or video DRM will advance past its capabilities.Skynet wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2024 8:47 pmI'm actually blown away how good yt-dlp is for a free product. Shame as it was going good until today

Re: Looking for a good youtube video downloader
looks like an update for it may have done the trick, at least it grabbed the first thing I tried dead fast. small update it went fine then stopped downloading but after restarting byclick it went back to normal again, very odd
