It's official.. EA have made games SO BAD they can go from battlefield 4 to 1 and people will still pay for it!!
I remember the actual battlefield 1... it was called battlefield 1942... so is this new one is missing 942, I am sure that will be day one DLC!

Even I stopped caring after battlefield 3, and I fucking loved the games.. (battlefield 2, bad company 2 and battlefield 3 are all you need though)

There was no Battlefield 1. 1942 was the first but it was not Battlefield 1.

This trailer is getting too much hype. I'm gonna write an angry letter.

You think everything gets too much hype. We don't all live in a world where no one talks about things.

Obviously the marketing is a bit too subtle for ian.

FPS bore me to death, but I've always had a soft spot for World War based shooters. I might actually get this if it has a decent single player campaign.

It makes a lot of sense as most eras have been done to death but there's not been a great deal of WW1 shooters to my knowledge.

IGN wrote: $130 BATTLEFIELD 1 COLLECTOR'S EDITION DOESN'T COME WITH THE GAME

Amazon's exclusive collector's edition for Battlefield 1 costs $129.99 and doesn't include Battlefield 1.

Available for all three of the game's formats, the item's listing is pretty specific: "Battlefield 1 Exclusive Collector's Edition - Does Not Include Game".

So what does a game-less video game collector's edition include? Let's see (I'll help annotate):

14" statue (not the game)
Exclusive steelbook (not the game)
Cloth poster (not the game)
Deck of playing cards (different game)
Messenger pigeon tube containing exclusive DLC (for the game, but not the game)
Patch (not the game)
Premium Pacakaging (not the game)

For the price of, well, a full-price video game, you can grab the disc alongside the collector's edition for $189.99. Then there's the $209.99 Deluxe edition, which appears to make the sole addition of the Early Enlister version of the game - as you may have guessed, that's usually $20 more than the base game.

Battlefield 1 will be released on October 21 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. In other Battlefield news that omits the games themselves, Paramount is seemingly making a TV show out of the shooter.

So I downloaded the beta yesterday. It's definitely pretty and it could be fun, but the design choice baffles the hell out of me. See when you start, you get 5 choices of classes and weapon loadouts. But it honestly doesn't matter what you pick, because you are dropped on the battlefield with empty guns and no supplies. Instead, you have to find your ammo and supplies on the battlefield from downed soldiers. I spend the first 20 minute match just staying away from battles trying to figure out how the hell I was going to stay alive. I didn't find any supplies the entire match.

The second match went better because I found a mounted gun on a building that I used to kill a couple soldiers and steal their ammo. Once I had ammo, I basically became a sniper out of fear of wasting my bullets. Killed two soldiers before people realized that 'hey, that guy has ammo' and started running towards me. I held out until the match was over by hiding in a house and shooting out the windows, which was really fun because it felt ultra-realistic. I had a genuine fear of dying, which is rare for a FPS.

Match 3 was once again no fun. I found a armored car right off the bat, but I got there .5 seconds after someone else jumped in and took off. After that it was was 3 deaths until I decided that I just suck at the whole survival thing and logged out. I'm sure there's some kind of strategy I'm missing that would get me more into the action, but when you only hold a weapon for 8 minutes out of an hour of play and spend the rest of the time running and dying, it gets boring. It could definitely be an interesting mechanic, making every bullet and supply count like Resident Evil, but I wish they would at least start you off with a little something. Hell, even a combat knife would help.

I feel your pain. But I might have to pick this game up only for the novelty of it being World War I-themed.

I've been feeling the itch to play an FPS, but Battlefield seems to have all sorts of unwritten rules that I miss. :dontknow"

My favorite is riding along in an armored car for 15 minutes, not finding anyone or doing nothing until a tank blows it up.
