Elden Ring thread

Apparently this is a popular game that came out recently. Not that popular at BG though!

I want to play it, but I know I will suck at it and not finish it, so it makes me hesitant to spend full price on it.

Same. I'll get it eventually but the difficulty level puts me off.

I have a very special tradition when it comes to AAA RPGs: Buy them at 75% off and never play them :olol: It all started with Skyrim for me, so 11 years and counting!

- Compared to the network test the game's fps is worse and tweaked graphical setting added volumetric mist and improved shadow draw distance
- PS5 has higher fps compared to Xbox series X in both modes some times can be up too 8fps
- Xbox Series x VRR supports helps mitigate the dropped frames in performance mode
- They refused to give a winner in the Resolution even thought they admitted that frame to frame comparison proved that ps5 would have a higher resolution
- Loading times on ps5 is 3 times faster compared to Xbox series s/x
- Fixed 4k on PS5 and Xbox Series X in quality mode 1440p for Series S
- Dynamic 4k on PS5 and Xbox Series X bound between 1512p-2160p Series S between 1008p-1440p in Performance Mode

Hidden Elden Ring Colosseum Now Shown ‘Functioning’ by Elden Ring Dataminer

Image

Remember the hidden Elden Ring Colosseum that we reported on last month? Well, someone has managed to get the locked location ‘working’.

The inaccessible location was discovered by known Souls miner “Lance McDonald” last month. In a video, the reputable leaker showed the in-game location and how to get there. Unfortunately, at that point, the Colosseum itself didn’t appear to be working. Fast forward one month and miner “Sekiro Dubi” now has the location functioning. At least, to some degree. As shown in a new video, the miner used a standalone map editor called “DS Map Studio” in order to get into the colosseum in the Leyndell area. Apparently, these colosseums “are remains of a bygone era before Radagon became King Consort”, and in the video, we can clearly see a knight battling a giant lion in the colosseum. This suggests that, at some point, FromSoftware intended to include the location for gladiator fights within Elden Ring.

“I mean it's possible it was cut from the game so it can later be re-purposed as DLC or something? But at least we can see how it once functioned to some degree now”, Lance McDonald wrote in a reaction to this newly released video.

Whether this colosseum content was cut at some point, or the team still aims to include it for an upcoming DLC remains to be seen. Still, it’s an interesting discovery that we wanted to share. Check out the new Elden Ring hidden Colosseum video down below:

Elden Ring is available globally now for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. Last week we reported on a new upcoming mod for the PC version that aims to offer a full co-op experience. Features for this upcoming modification include enemy scaling, voting, synced map waypoints, a stackable debuff mechanic, and more.

WWE superstar Randy Orton says he's put 600 hours into Elden Ring

"I wish you were a fellow tarnished", he tells WWE champ Cody Rhodes

WWE superstar Randy Orton says he's played Elden Ring for around 600 hours.

In an interview with current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes as part of his What Do You Wanna Talk About series of videos, the wrestler said he had an obsession with the game.

After discussing John Cena's appearance in Mortal Kombat as his Peacemaker character, Orton admitted that he used to make fun of Rhodes for playing video games a lot, and that now he did too.

"I don't know if you're still a gamer," Orton said. "I used to give you shit about being a gamer."

"Yeah, that's you now," Rhodes replied. "Elden Ring?"

"Oh, I fucking love Elden Ring," Orton replied. "I've got… I almost don't even want to say. Now, keep in mind, this game came out… in six, seven, eight months, whatever February is, it'll be three years since it came out.

"And also, let me preface this next statement with saying that I was out with spinal fusion surgery so I had a lot of time on my hands. I got, like, 600 hours on the game."

He added: "I love that game. DLC just came out."

Rhodes, who used to fight wearing boots with a Zelda Triforce on them, confessed that he hadn't played the game, saying: "You asked me something about Elden Ring the other day, and I didn't lie to your face, but I just kinda went 'yeah'. You mentioned that you were playing and I was like 'ah, I'm not'."

"You don't got the time," Orton replied, referring to Rhodes's title. "You're killing it and you don't got the time, and I understand why. I would love to chop it up about some Elden Ring with you, trust me. I wish you were a fellow Tarnished, but you're not.

"Brother, I get lost in it. The kids go to sleep, I give my wife the iPad and say 'hey, buy stuff on Amazon' and then I'll just play. Oh God, it's like Christmas every day at my house."

Back in 2022, Rhodes was interviewed by WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin, who asked him in a quick-fire round what his favourite Zelda game was.

Rhodes replied "Ocarina of Time, hands down," to which Austin, who isn't known to play games, replied: "No, dude. Breath of the Wild."

Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will add 2 new classes among others

More details on the new content in Elden Ring Tarnished Edition were revealed at the first FromSoftware Games Event Spring 2025 held today in Tokyo. Japanese journalists from Famitsu and Dengeki also attended the event in person and covered the new reveals made there.

More details on the new content in Elden Ring Tarnished Edition were revealed at the first FromSoftware Games Event Spring 2025 held today in Tokyo. Japanese journalists from Famitsu and Dengeki also attended the event in person and covered the new reveals made there.

Expanding from the initial reveal at last April's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, FromSoftware published additional details by specifying the amount of content that they will add. We have previously known that there would be new armor for the player's avatar and appearance customizations for Torrent the horse. In this event, FromSoftware revealed that they will add 4 new armor sets and 3 new selectable appearances for Torrent.

In addition, FromSoftware revealed 2 new selectable classes, which are tentatively translated from Japanese as Knight of Ides and Heavy Armored Knight. Their armor sets will constitute 2 of the 4 new armor in Tarnished Edition, and the remaining 2 sets will be obtainable in-game. FromSoftware also teased that they will add more new weapons and skills.

Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, which also includes content from Shadow of the Erdtree, will be available for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025. The new content added in Tarnished Edition will also be available for the existing Elden Ring releases on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC via the Tarnished Pack DLC. FromSoftware also promised in the Japanese event that the DLC pack will be available at a low price. In addition, they also used the PC version of the game to showcase the new Tarnished content at the event.
