Re: Star Wars Movies, TV & Comics Thread
Star Wars has become so formulaic. You know the protagonist will be an attractive young character(s) with DEEP ISSUES with a CUTE SIDEKICK and a WISE MENTOR and he will have to go a DRAMATIC GROWTH to defeat the BIG BAD and his ARMY OF MEANIES and along the way he will DISCOVER THE POWER WITHIN and there will be at least eight DEUS EX MACHINAS in the series.

Re: Star Wars Movies, TV & Comics Thread
So I tried the acolyte. It's not as bad as people were saying, but I'm not eager to watch more either.
The most Jarring thing was seeing Trinity from the Matrix.
I was hoping she'd say DODGE THIS! after putting a light Saber to someone's head and then turning it on...
That's not what happened and I watched 3 episodes before I moved on to other stuff... Still waiting for more Andor.

Re: Star Wars Movies, TV & Comics Thread
I've watched 2 episodes of the 80's coming of age movie star wars, I mean skeleton crew, and the whole time it seemed fun but I'm obviously not who this is for. The goonies X stranger things, I mean Skeleton crew is clearly aimed at kids, and the my first star wars for a new generation of kids, I mean skeleton crew, is kind of eh. 30 years ago, I would have loved it. But the problem is star wars already has a my first star wars product, it's Star wars from 1977, and the world has had that for nearly 50 years now.
With all the time, spin offs, and changes, and extended series and other stuff that's come out these past 10 years, it honestly feels like it's time to just remake star wars from scratch and pull the band-aid off.
This show will do for now to fill in the now absolutely agonising wait for more andor, which the acclitebrite and Ahsoka simply didn't do, this is heaps better.
Of all the star wars like stuff that's come out since Andor last graced our screens: slow motion star wars X seven samurai (rebel moon), Accolyte, Ahsoka, Mandalorian season 3, Bad batch season 3, tales, young jedi adventures and a million other things I'm sure I missed, this has been the closest thing to acceptable star wars.
I'd trade all that shit for more andor though.
Andor is real Star wars, Skeleton crew is Star wars the next generation!
But in the 10 million fucking years they've fucked around releasing bullshit instead of focusing entirely on real star wars and my first star wars the next generation, they could have finally given us Star Wars Detours while we waited.
What they need to do is pump out Mandalorian and the merchandising baby to pay for 5 seasons of real star wars and keep people happy while real star wars, and this new Star wars Jr. Are in production.
Of course, it's Star wars, so you'll just have to hate watch it to decide you hate it for yourself.

Re: Star Wars Movies, TV & Comics Thread
And with that trailer, I know to avoid anything to do with star wars on the entire internet.
I don't want a single second of Andor spoiled for me, so I'm not even watching the trailer. I'll wait till it's out till I see any of it.
Won't be binging it all in one go this time though, as they release them, I will watch them.
If it's even half as good as season 1 turned out to be, I'll be happy.
