Re: Sony General Games Thread
Don't know if this belongs in here, or the retro thread But Daxter is apparently coming to PS5.
which is Fantastic news! With a PS5 in my future the second Judas or GTA 6 comes out, it'll be amazing to replay this for the first time in 16 odd years.
Not only is Jak and Daxter the precursor legacy my favourite 3D platform game of all time (settle down everyone I said my favourite, not the most iconic or first great, or best selling, or technically brilliant or best aged), But Daxter was an absolute crown jewel of the PSP.
Daxter, Along with GTA Liberty City/Vice City Stories and God of war Chains of Olympus showed the entire world what portable games could and SHOULD be.
No full priced side scrolling game that belonged on a home console in 1992... 15 years too late.
Proper REAL, actual games that rivaled what home consoles could achieve. Games so good you forget you're playing on a tiny little screen.
I don't think I could finish Jak 3, or combat racing or lost frontier again. But I'll absolutely play Daxter again along with its first 2 home console brothers.
This is making me hungry for PSP... It had so many games that simply made you forget you're playing on a handheld... Like the Gameboy had Tetris, and Links awakening and Kirby's dream land in the 90's and before Nintendo went stagnant in handhelds for a decade, the PSP had Daxter. and Lumines.
And it also good portable GTA games for the first and so far only and last time.
I don't know if I'm more happy to be able to play Daxter on a modern console or more happy remembering how much I adored the PSP... or more happy that the PS5 finally has a good game. (Unless they fuck it up somehow)

I had one of those PlayStation powergloves come in a large lot I bought.
If you've ever wanted to know what having severe RSI and Arthritis feels like you just have to use one of these for 25 minutes.
Worse than even the original powerglove!
