"and enjoys alumni from franchises like The Last of Us, Uncharted, The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Far Cry, and more"

Let me guess.
The last of us and uncharteds cut scene director.
The Witcher 3 play tester.
Cyberpunk 2077 lead quality assurance.
Far Cry New Dawn. Anyone who worked on it.
And more: What's the bet it'll be lead product placement officer from EA or something equally as terrible.

And even if by some mathematically impossible miracle they make a good game, the odds are even slimmer than impossible the studio will even get to make a second game before they're working on adding a new popup ad overlay for other Microsoft products.

Microsoft to release next 'Call of Duty' game on subscription service, source says

Microsoft plans to release the coming installment of the "Call of Duty" videogame to its subscription service, in a departure from its longtime practice of only selling the title independently, a source familiar with the matter said on Friday.

The move is expected to be announced at the company's annual Xbox showcase, scheduled for June 9, the person said on the condition of anonymity as the plans are private.

Microsoft did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment. The Wall Street Journal first reported the news on Friday.
Microsoft acquired "Call of Duty" through its buyout of Activision Blizzard in a $69 billion deal, which closed late last year.

The first-person shooter video-game is among the most successful entertainment properties and has generated more than $30 billion in lifetime revenue.

Activision has long released new editions of the game annually priced at around $70 each in recent years.

The development comes just days after Xbox President Sarah Bond said in a conference the company plans to release all first-party Xbox games on Game Pass on the day of their launch.

Microsoft manages a subscription service called Game Pass, which offers access to games from Xbox and other developers for a fee.

The Redmond, Washington-based company has tried to build out the Netflix-style game subscription services aggressively in recent years as part of its efforts to break the dominance of PlayStation consoles made by Japanese rival Sony Corp.

Microsoft said in February Game Pass had 34 million subscribers, up from the 25 million it reported in 2022.

Analysts said the launch of "Call of Duty" — a franchise with a large and loyal fan base — would help draw more people to Game Pass but could affect the overall sales generated by the title.

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III", released in November 2023, is the second-best selling game so far this year. It trails Sony's "Helldivers II", according to industry tracker Circana.

Perfect dark looks a lot worse than I was hoping, Fable looks good still and I have no strong feelings about MGS. It sure does look like a metal gear game...

But why does perfect dark have sliding? What is this, Warframe? And if it has sliding, perfect dark is set in the future so they'd better have invented the infinite slide. Unless I can pass the entire game by sliding, I'm not interested... (I'm pretty sure all of perfect dark is actually in the past now, I'll have to look that up though)

I can understand all the fucking slow motion in that trailer, they're aiming to make gamers nostalgic for all the thrills of 4 players, 8 perfect Sims farsights and N-bombs on N64

But it seems like Carrington is bad? When the hell did that happen? This game has a lot to answer for. I'm not buying an Xbox to find out, I'll probably watch a let's play of so I don't have to deal with the parkour and can skip forward when slow motion bores me.

By the end of the trailer I was thinking maybe Carrington is actually good (or not bad as such) and he'll get Joanna to switch sides to help him

If their target demographic is aging millennials who haven't played Xbox in ages, well they found me. These look competent (nay, even 7/10 good) to my fuzzy, nostalgia-addled mind.
