They are correct, it is too early for Christmas.

Fuck off, Mariah!

That song is brilliant!

Speaking of too early for religious holidays, my local supermarket is selling 6 packs of mini fruit buns, which is not uncommon to get them, but they actually have crosses on them... They're making god damn hot cross buns in fucking mid November!

And it's brilliant, I just had a November hot cross bun!

They started putting Christmas shit out before Halloween at some stores I went to.

Gotta get the most out of the useless shit we can only use once a year.

As much as the shops try to make Halloween a thing here, it just doesn't take off, so they try selling Halloween themed junk for like 2 weeks, then give up and start selling Christmas stuff as Halloween themed stuff slowly disappears. :olol:

I saw a lot of regional towns had Christmas decorations up first week of November.
My mum is slowly building a Christmas feast, getting things like puddings and Lollies and shortbreads and candy canes etc at the rate of about one type once a week so by the time we make Christmas plans 3 days before Christmas, all the shit is ready to go to feed between 4 and 47 people.

Last year I managed to avoid Mariah entirely, but it's been the only year ever to have that happen. I'm expecting I'll have about 1-2 weeks before I have to hear it.

I heard All I Want For Christmas Is You at least 87 times last year. Mariah is on TV at the end of the Thanksgiving morning parade in New York City singing it.

I can no longer keep track of which songs are Jefferson Airship, Jefferson Starship, and just Starship.

And I don't care to remember anymore... I am too old to keep track of 3 identical bands from before I was born. They're all the same band now.

If I want to listen to somebody to love, Jane and we built this city. They will now all be referred to as Jefferson.

Vertical video Zoidberg? VERTICAL VIDEO?!?!

Even with Tears for Fears I couldn't stomach to watch for more than 1 second.

Fix that shit! delete it and try again. You know better than that Zoidberg... You know you know better than that, Skynet knows you know better than that, and I know you know better than that.

I never thought someone I know and respect would sink so low as to upload a vertical video.

I'm too enraged to even ask if the sound burger is any good..

ian wrote: Mon Oct 17, 2022 5:51 am I've been listening to The Living End all night.

Remind me to see them live one day.
They're playing next week at good things festival... And I don't really think it's worth the $250 just to see them.

There is one other gig for $129. But it's in Newcastle, so about $350 to get there and back. 4 shows for a 30th anniversary seems a little lacklustre.

The lineup of good things is actually pretty good, they have a full compliment of bands with only 1 or maybe 2 good songs... korn, sum 41, L7, dragon, violent femmes, mastodon, imminence, killing heidi etc, but I'm much too old to be going back and forth between stages for 9 hours to hear 1 or 2 good songs from a whole set.

I'm also pissed I missed Metallica tickets for next year. Might be the last time I'll ever get to see them, and even Adelaide sold out everything in 8.2 seconds including the $4000 VIP tickets... Not that I would have bought the VIP $4000 ticket, because they only guarantee meeting 2 members of the band, but they won't tell you which 2... And it's not going to be Hetfield and Hammet is it? It's gonna be Ulrich and Trujillo.

It's been a while since I've heard a new 80s power pop/new wave song that I haven't heard before.

I assume the reason the original isn't on Spotify is due to the Neighbours sample.

Oh my god, that's awful, so awful that I love it! The original being missing is a travesty though.

I haven't had Spotify for like 6 months now because I'm saving for stuff.

It's a lot easier to justify not having Spotify when it's missing timeless classics like the stutter rap though.
