I sold my original ones (s1-7) right after season 8 came to netflix for $130 something... I assume someone wanted to brag they were a fan before it came to netflix. That's the only way someone would have paid that much for used DVD's
To be fair, if I bought season 1-2 and 3 without having seen season 4 I'd have thrown it out too... I HATED the first 3 seasons.
Seasons 2 & 3 are probably my faves. S1 was pretty rough.
And the recycle shop had lots of good DVDs: Team America, Super Troopers, Lord Of The Rings trilogy etc., etc. The blu-ray selection wasn't good though and not that many of them either.
ian wrote:Red dwarf series 12.. a little pissed that it's not as well presented as ALL the other individual seasons except for season 11. Black case, no silver lining on the red dwarf text, shitty label-less discs (just white etching on the reflective layer).. no collectors booklet or chapter info or ANYTHING nice.. it's almost like they don't care.. Enough special features to make it worth the $25. Red Dwarf has always had THE BEST special features discs.
And can confirm that both season 11 and 12 DON'T have REVERSIBLE covers here.. They look FUCKING SHIT when next to the rest of the DVD's
Are they factory pressed?. Amazon seemingly selling DVDs on recordable discs now, look how bootleg this looks
Cover all grainy etc and they selling for nearly $30 for recordable discs.

No they don't look like a standard DVDR.. they're more like those OLD CD-Rs back in the day that you had to label right as you took them out of the spindle otherwise you'd mistake them for upside down a bunch.. like that but with lasered on labels..
It's really horrible.. almost ruins my red dwarf collection as much as the OFLC's big fucking colour coded parental labels... ALMOST

No shock Deadpool was the most fun really, the list sort of indicates where they were on the fun level starting at the top
Watched Solo the other night, unlike Rouge One it was actually a good film & didnt destroy continuity, makes it a shame about the uncertain future of any more really (cant remember if they went back to canning them after saying they were then saying maybe not)
I'm talking about the fact it totally ignores where the Death Star plans come from, remember the line "Many Bothans died to bring us this information" dont get me wrong it is a fun film but to have the makers act like the Empire & erase the alien contribution to the events of New Hope just never seemed right to me & tainted the entire thing, you're right on 1, 2 & 3 though (havent got round to 8 yet so cant judge)
I thought that the bothans weren’t mentioned till return of the Jedi?
Wasn’t it the Death Star 2 that the bothans died for?
It makes sense that the second Death Star wouldn’t be the same. So lots of people and aliens died to get the plans.
I’ll have to rewatch as I don’t 100% remember.
My only real complaint about rouge one is the start is all over the place and darth Vader’s choking pun made me groan.
I picked up:
He died with a felafel in his hand
Zoolander 2
The Tom Green show something smells funny
The Tom Green show tonsil hockey
And idiocracy
For $12 from blockbuster.
(They were still in business on Friday)
If they’re open tomorrow I’m going to get a bunch of my Saturn discs buffed.
They are the last blockbuster in Victoria and I honestly don’t know where to get discs fixed when they go.
A lot of the DVDs on sale were ones I’d rent for a couple of bucks but wouldn’t really need to own. Shame.
People are throwing blurays in the garbage now. Here's a list of some of the blurays I got for either $2 or $3 each at the recycle center.
