I don't think Stevie Nicks needs to go on as a solo act at all since Tom Petty wrote her solo hits, but other than that it's a great class.

A pretty good list of inductees.

She's got a bunch of good songs but I agree that she doesn't need to go in as a solo artist. I think Petty only wrote a couple of her hits though.Bandit wrote: Fri Dec 14, 2018 12:29 am I don't think Stevie Nicks needs to go on as a solo act at all since Tom Petty wrote her solo hits, but other than that it's a great class.

Kraftwerk and Rage Against The Machine were the two top ones who should have gotten in over her, since they both changed music in their era (RATM for the worse, unfortunately, because they paved the way for Limp Bizkit.) Maybe they thought they shouldn't go in in that class because it would make it too good and next year would look bad.

Re: General music news
Yea Stevie is a big part of Fleetwood Mac post Peter Green era and her & Lindsey Buckingham were responsible for that success to quite a high degree. As a solo artist she's sold around 30 million albums which I think justifies her induction. That being said, I do think Kraftwerk and RATM should have gone in too. I guess Fleetwood Mac touring means she's more in the public eye. Rufus and Chaka didn't get in either, nor did LL this time.
Depeche Mode aren't in, nor are Iron Maiden, New Order, Devo, Nine Inch Nails, Sonic Youth, Kate Bush, Bjork, T Rex, The Smiths, John Coltrane, Joy Division, Whitney among others.
Also from an article on R&B acts not in the HOF
Roger & Zapp are from Dayton, Ohio so you'd think with the HOF being in Cleveland, OH they'd induct them considering their songs have been sampled many times and even today Bruno Mars "borrowed" his Talkbox sound for 24K Magic. Plus Roger worked with Snoop, Tupac & Dre, Tech N9ne, Spice-1, Easy E among others so he's had an influence on Hip Hop. He also played on MJ's Bad album

But I don't know if he's ever been nominated or even on the R&R HOF radar sadly.

Rick James isn't either and although most associate him with Chappelle Show skits, Rick was a big artist in his time and had his own protégée acts too like Teena Marie, Process and the Doo Rags, Bobby M, Mary Jane Girls.Sade. Luther Vandross. New Edition. The S.O.S. Band. Zapp. Whitney Houston. The Gap Band. Barry White. Mariah Carey. The Manhattans. Grace Jones. Anita Baker. Guy. Patti Labelle. The Commodores. The Spinners. Teddy Pendergrass. Chic.

Happy 75th birthday to Keith Richards. Who thought that would be possible 40 years ago.

I know, right?. BBC did an article on Keith back in 2010

Quit Heroin in 1978 and Cocaine back in 2006. Had he stayed on Heroin I doubt he'd have made it til today. But then again it's Keith Richards so any things possible!
