Amidst all of the other Linkin Park news, the band debuted their first song with new singer Emily Armstrong titled "The Emptiness Machine."
The track starts off with vocals from Mike Shinoda and feels like the Linkin Park we've always known and loved. When Armstrong comes in, her powerful vocals add a new flavor to the band's sound.

That’s not bad. I might pick that album up when it ultimately releases.

It sounds good. It sounds fresh. It sounds depressing. It sounds like The Cure.

Apparently it's about the deaths of his parents so you know it's not one you're going to be playing at the party with Hot Hot Hot and Lovecats.
But Cure, Tears For Fears and Pet Shop Boys all putting out songs good enough to be on their classic albums this month is pretty cool. The 80s are back!

I don't know if I'm absolutely disgusted, or quite in love with this version.
I'm horrified that it's not identical to ELO in every single way, but I can't say it sounds completely atrocious...
If it was any other band that did this I would be beyond outraged, but I think I actually like it... I think so, anyway.

I think it sounds good. Simon's voice goes well with the song.

What the hell happened to Justice?
That was fucking terrible. Can Tame Impalaaaaah be blamed or is it on them?
They are never going to top Cross in a million years, but their newer stuff wasn't so much bad, just never going to those heights ever again. That was bad though.
I see they released a new album this year for the first time in like 8 years and I haven't heard it which shows how much I've paid attention to electronic music since it died in 2021 (oh shit Chromeo have a new album this year too and the Chemical Brothers had one last year) I might have to listen to both Justice and Chromeo and see which group can take the trophy of best electronic album of 2024.
